How precise is precision?<br />
Precision is an extremely imprecise concept.<br />
If a movement deviates from the actual<br />
time by just 30 seconds per day – or every<br />
86,400 seconds – its degree of accuracy is<br />
an astonishing 99.965 %. It could thus be<br />
reasonably described as being “precise”.<br />
But compare this value with the accuracy<br />
expected of high-quality watches and it<br />
puts things into a different perspective. So<br />
what defines a watch with a maximum level<br />
of precision? The key factor in the accuracy<br />
of a watch is the quality of its movement.<br />
The more precise the regulation, the more<br />
accurate the watch will be. Another aspect<br />
not to be overlooked is the movement’s<br />
behaviour at different temperatures and<br />
