Chairman’s Message<br />
Since its inception in 1996, <strong>Asia</strong>-<strong>Pacific</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Management</strong> (AIM) has consistently maintained its sharp focus<br />
on one objective – to shape future business leaders in response to the fast-changing dynamics <strong>of</strong> the business world.<br />
Capitalizing on the inherent strength <strong>of</strong> maintaining high faculty-to-student ratios in the NCR and leveraging on<br />
���������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������<br />
terms <strong>of</strong> its core faculty. To add value to the academic deliverables, Innovative course structures are designed through<br />
regular interaction with the industry to keep abreast with the latest happenings in the corporate world. State-<strong>of</strong>-the-art<br />
infrastructure, with a centrally air-conditioned wi-fi enabled campus, one <strong>of</strong> the best print-cum-digital libraries, the recently<br />
renovated world-class computer laboratory – all contribute to a creation <strong>of</strong> a congenial learning environment <strong>of</strong> AIM.<br />
AIM lays considerable emphasis on continuous industry interaction through summer internship projects, MDPs,<br />
consultancy as well as regular guest lectures to prepare our students for a seamless transition to a corporate world.<br />
To add another feather in our cap, we are now on the threshold <strong>of</strong> launching our another unique ‘Green’ Project in<br />
Lucknow, U.P. on a site <strong>of</strong> 40 acres with a total built-up area <strong>of</strong> 12, 82,000, sq ft which will consist <strong>of</strong> 2 Engineering<br />
Colleges, 2 MBA Colleges, 1 Architecture College, 1 Pharmacy College, 1 B.Ed. College – all planned together as one<br />
integrated campus. All these 7 colleges will be distinctively segregated in conformity with the stipulated AICTE norms;<br />
but at the same time, are harmoniously and aesthetically knit together.<br />

Art library infrastructure and resources. LRDC is one <strong>of</strong> the best maintained libraries amongst the business schools<br />
<strong>of</strong> Delhi- NCR region. The LRDC boasts <strong>of</strong> large comfortable reading rooms, with over 40,000 books in print, over<br />
1700 publications on CDs and a collection <strong>of</strong> over 2,800 Project Reports. Over 5553 journals are available, including<br />
online access to ABI/INFORM ProQuest Database,ICFAI University Press Journals, Harvard Business Review, Sage<br />
Online Journals. LRDC subscribes to major Online Databases: Data Monitor CMIE - EIS, (Company Reports) Indiastat.<br />

Our Personal Growth LAB caters to the need <strong>of</strong> grooming our students in the area <strong>of</strong> S<strong>of</strong>t skill and Employability<br />

the Engineering and <strong>Management</strong> area not to be ‘job ready’ in terms <strong>of</strong> skill sets required in the industry making our<br />
young graduates ‘educated’ yet ‘unemployable’. According to Labour Report 2007, “About 53 per cent <strong>of</strong> employed<br />
youth suffer some degree <strong>of</strong> skill deprivation while only 8 per cent <strong>of</strong> youth are unemployed”. The report prepared<br />
by one <strong>of</strong> India’s largest staffing company, TeamLease Services further elaborates citing “57 per cent <strong>of</strong> India’s youth<br />
suffer some degree <strong>of</strong> unemployability.”<br />

teachings and outbound trainings (OBTs), is set up by the institute to groom the students in the THREE major areas<br />
– Communications, S<strong>of</strong>t Skills and Employability. For an overall personality development <strong>of</strong> our students, PG Lab<br />

SHAURYA-The E-Cell<br />
SHAURYA-The E-Cell<br />
Shaurya (the E-Cell) <strong>of</strong> <strong>Asia</strong>-<strong>Pacific</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Management</strong> gives impetus to the development <strong>of</strong> budding entrepreneurs.<br />
It is a platform to showcase and hone one’s entrepreneurial skills. It was found in 2007 by Pr<strong>of</strong>. Vikas Kumar. The<br />
purpose <strong>of</strong> Shaurya is to enlighten the inner self within an individual. Shaurya operates in collaboration with National<br />
Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). Faculty coordinators for the cell, Dr. Pranav Saraswat and Dr. Ashu Singh provide<br />
guidance to the membered students and help them in planning out the various entrepreneurial events. A core<br />
committee <strong>of</strong> five students is appointed in the departments like HR, Finance, Marketing, IT and Operations and then<br />
the members <strong>of</strong> Shaurya are assigned to various departments to ensure the smooth flow <strong>of</strong> work.<br />

make the course structures and delivery amongst the best in the country. The constant interaction with<br />
the corporate world at all stages <strong>of</strong> the process, from induction to placement, keeps the programme<br />
industry focused, while the faculty members bring in the requisite conceptual clarity, theoretical rigor and<br />
innovative ideas which are key elements in the shaping <strong>of</strong> managers. The faculty members are mostly<br />
Ph.D.’s or in the process <strong>of</strong> acquiring doctoral qualifications, and the quality <strong>of</strong> research activity can be<br />
judged by the constant stream <strong>of</strong> research papers and articles that are published in reputed journals or<br />

Dr. A.N. Sarkar- a Doctorate from the University <strong>of</strong> Wales (UK), is currently the Officiating Director<br />
and Senior Pr<strong>of</strong>essor at AIM. His current involvement also includes working as an Editor <strong>of</strong><br />

������������ ���� ������� ���� ����� ��� ������ ����������� ��� �������� �������� �������� ������������<br />

Schools in Delhi-NCR region. He has served as Convener-cum-Member Secretary to a number <strong>of</strong><br />
Inter-Ministerial Committees.<br />

and academics. In industry he had worked for 15 years in senior positions at Zenith Computers<br />
Limited and Onida. He has been in academics for more than 10 years teaching Marketing subjects<br />

He has also written 7 books in <strong>Management</strong> and has many publications to his credit in<br />
national and international journals. He has also participated and chaired in a number <strong>of</strong> national and international<br />

seminars, conferences, panel discussions as well as other events. He is also Vice President Communications <strong>of</strong><br />
