NORTHERN NORWAY Northern Norway is regarded one of the best fishing grounds in the world. Located on the edge of the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea this is the site of numerous record catches including halibut at 140 kg, but professional fishermen have caught specimens weighing 300kg! There is excellent fishing all along the coast for cod, halibut, saith and catfish. It is easiest to catch in winter but because of the short days most visitors prefer to fish March – October.
