COUNCIL BUDGET<br />
2010/2011<br />
This year’s budget focuses on improving community safety, renewing community<br />
infrastructure assets and reducing inherited debt.<br />
The revenue collected through rates goes directly into improving services<br />
and community infrastructure across the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Maribyrnong</strong>.<br />

Yarraville Community Centre was redeveloped as part of <strong>Council</strong>’s 2009/2010 Budget.<br />
BUDGET SNAPSHOT:<br />
• <strong>Council</strong>’s total Budget for 2010/2011 is $93.126 million, of which $61.024 million is<br />
funded through residential, industrial and commercial rates.<br />
• Pensioner rebate of $69 - one of few councils to off er it.<br />
• 2010/2011 rates increase: 5.9 per cent (3.9 per cent CPI and external impacts,<br />
2 per cent Sustainability and Community Infrastructure Fund).<br />
• The total amount spent on improving community assets and<br />
infrastructure in this year’s budget is $19.525m –<br />
with 83.74 per cent of this funded through rates.<br />
