Pharmaniaga
lancar Citrex
Supertots
Pada 21 Oktober 2011, Pharmaniaga
Berhad telah melancarkan Citrex,
rangkaian vitamin dan makanan
kesihatan tambahan untuk golongan
kanak-kanak dan bagi tujuan pemasaran
pula mengadakan kerjasama dengan
Supertots, sebuah siri televisyen animasi
termasuk kepentingan makanan berkhasiat.
SOS team from Pharmaniaga and Mercy Malaysia
The orang asli patients receiving medical and dental treatments
121 orang asli patients turned up to
receive medical and dental treatment.
Most of the cases required only minor
attention. However, we experienced a
few cases which required the doctors
to improvise and perform minor
surgery sessions with the limited tools
we had. It was rather unfortunate for
the orang asli people that we could
only bring limited supplies of medicine
and manpower during the mission.
Despite the challenges and barriers
that we faced, we did our best, served
the community there, and helped out
with whatever we could. Enriching
lives has never been this fulfilling!
Date Joined Boustead:
• February 2007
Current Position:
• Accountant, Damansara Entertainment Centre Sdn Bhd
Ahmad Fazril Fauzi started out at St. John’s Institution, where he
completed his SPM in 2000 with Prinsip Perakaunan being one
of the elective subjects in the examination. He completed his
matriculation programme in Economics at the Universiti Islam
Antarabangsa Malaysia and proceeded to Deakin University
in Melbourne to pursue his bachelor's degree in Commerce,
majoring in Accounting and Finance.
He joined Boustead in February 2007 under the Accountant
Trainee Programme. Since then, he has been assigned to
Boustead Engineering Sdn Bhd, Group Finance, Boustead
Hotels and Resorts Sdn Bhd and currently is an Accountant
with Damansara Entertainment Centre Sdn Bhd.
Fazril is an avid sports fan. He spends most of his free time
either watching or playing football. He is also active in tennis
and badminton. Being a Grade 7 pianist, his other major
interest is music where he tries to attend as many live music
shows as possible.
By his own admission, having to attend classes on weekends,
sit for exams while serving his responsibilities at work, was no
walk in the park. In addition to all the assignments, quizzes and
presentations that were pre-requisites for the course made
the task just a little bit harder. He states that the only way to
get through all five papers he sat for was by not looking too far
ahead and take it one paper at a time. This attitude served him
well as he completed the certification in less than three years
and graduated in May 2011.
When he received the results for the final examination, the
feeling was one of overwhelming relief and happiness. “At that
point my heart was beating out of my chest and when I found
out I had passed, I felt like giving everyone a hug and a highfive.
Needless to say there were some bemused faces around
me!” He acknowledges that he knew it would be one of the
most challenging phases in his life and was determined to take
Fazril, our new
Chartered Accountant!
it head on. His parents deservedly got a lot of credit for
giving him the encouragement and support.
Looking ahead, Fazril intends to repay the faith shown
in him by Mr. Daniel Ebinesan, the Group’s Finance
Director. He confirms that the exposure and development
programmes provided by Boustead have been and will be
of invaluable use to him. He also promises to continue to
grow as a person and an employee and he is prepared for
any other challenges and responsibilities bestowed upon
him in the future.
!
Mr. Daniel congratulating Fazril on his success
Congratulations, Fazeyana and Fazura!
We would like to congratulate Fazeyana and Fazura on their recent
success in the MICPA exams. For their efforts, they have been
promoted to the position of an Accountant. To them, we say well
done!
Fazeyana graduated from UiTM with a
First Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree
(Accountancy) in 2006. While at UiTM,
she also signed up for the MICPA
exams. Prior to joining Boustead in
October 2010, Fazeyana had a 3-year
working stint with Ernst & Young.
Starting out as an Assistant Accountant
with Group Finance, she acted as the
Fazeyana
accounting head for several small
subsidiaries and assisted with Boustead
group financial reporting. Fazeyana is
currently married, and in her spare time, she enjoys shopping and
snorkelling.
Another successful MICPA graduate, Fazura had graduated with a
Degree in Accounting at the University of Malaya in 2003. Before
joining Mutiara Rini Sdn Bhd in May
2008 as an Assistant Accountant,
Fazura had a 4-year working stint
with Azman, Wong, Salleh and also
worked as an accountant with a PLC
Group Human
Capital Management
departmental trip
to Kota Kinabalu,
Sabah
Boustead Holdings Berhad’s Group
Human Capital Management
Department staff recently took time
off from their busy schedules for a
departmental trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
The trip, from 7 to 10 October 2011, was
packed with exciting activities and visits.
Kota Kinabalu is situated on the tropical
island of Borneo, and the location of the city
is strategic, as it is just a short bus-ride from
the airport to the hotel.
During the Group’s tour of the Kota Kinabalu
city, they passed historical and architectural
sites such as the State Mosque as well as
the Tun Mustapha Tower and visited the
Monsopiad Cultural Village, a living museum
dedicated to the life and times of Monsopiad
and his descendants. The Group also had the opportunity to experience the traditional
bamboo dance taught by the dancers at the Monsopiad Cultural Village.
The Group’s visit to Kota Kinabalu was also filled with adventurous activities, whereby
they had the opportunity to visit the Poring Hot Spring, a popular recreation spot and
well known for its natural hot spring and canopy walk. It was a fun experience walking
through all four hanging bridges whilst appreciating the beautiful scenery from above.
Despite the busy schedule, the Group managed to squeeze
in some shopping time at popular shopping spots such as the
Philipino Market and Gaya Market.
The Group Human Capital Management departmental trip to
Kota Kinabalu was indeed a memorable one. They
left Kota Kinabalu
with an unforgettable
experience, and the
opportunity to get to
know each member
of the department,
towards working and
co-operating better as
a team.
BHPetrol adds another two Touch ‘n Go SPOTs
Boustead Petroleum
Marketing Sdn. Bhd.
(BHPetrol) added another
two Touch ‘n Go SPOTs, with
the seventh one located at
the BHPetrol station near the
southbound side of Sungai Besi
Toll Plaza.
The Touch ‘n Go SPOT (previously
known as ‘Customer Service
Counter’) has been operating
in other petrol stations since
July 2010, mainly for the
convenience of Touch ‘n Go
users, especially those travelling
frequently on expressways.
It was first initiated at the
station in Sg. Kayu Ara along
the Damansara Highway to the
North Klang Valley Expressway
(NKVE).
BHPetrol’s ‘Save & Win’ Contest rewards winners
The first overall contest winner, Pn. Ayu Rohaida
The first overall winner of BHPetrol’s
‘Save & Win’ contest was Pn. Ayu
Rohaida Hj. Muda who received the
first prize of RM50,000.00 in the
September draw. The mother of two
works in the Temerloh hospital in
Pahang and plans to put aside the
money for her children’s education.
She was not the only big winner in
September, as many other BHPetrol
customers also won cash prizes ranging
from the second prize of RM30,000.00
to 50 RM1,000.00 consolation prizes.
And all they needed to do was spend a
minimum of RM30.00 at participating
BHPetrol service stations in Peninsular
Malaysia. Besides the cash prizes,
there were also 2.5 million ePoints
given out every month.
"This is how you reload your Touch 'n Go card!"
The SPOTs at the BHPetrol Sg. Besi and Sg. Kayu Ara
stations are strategically located as an alternative
to the reload lanes at toll plazas, and are helping to
lessen the traffic congestion. These SPOTs are also
expected to widen its reach to existing Touch ‘n Go
users and potential customers, as the availability of
October winner, Mdm. Ang
Soo Cheng from Kuala Ketil,
Kedah said, “I am a loyal
customer of BHPetrol and
regularly visit the BHPetrol
stations around Sg. Petani
and Butterworth.” Ang who is
the owner of a mini market,
said she was elated to learn
she won the monthly contest
in which she had participated
since it started. She added
that before switching to
BHPetrol, she had used other
brands of petrol. After trying
BHPetrol Infiniti Advanced2X,
she found it to be different
from the others as it gave
more mileage from each litre,
better response and even a
smoother ride.
October
winner
BHPetrol's Retail Director, Mr. James Khoo
with October winner, Mdm. Ang
the counters at strategic locations
would encourage them to reload
and purchase Touch ‘n Go cards
and Smart Tags. No reload fee will
be charged for those who reload
their cards at Touch ‘n Go SPOTs.
Currently, there are 1,200
reload points, excluding those
at BHPetrol stations, that do
not impose reload fees, out of
the approximately 7,000 reload
points available nationwide,
which comprise ATM & CDM
machines, petrol stations, toll
plazas, agents and others.
Touch ‘n Go SPOTs also offer
the Toll Rebate Redemption
service under the government’s
1Malaysia Frequent Traveller
Programme where they can
enquire and claim rebate.
November
winner
BHPetrol's Managing Director, Mr. Tan Kim Thiam congratulating Mr. Ang
November winner, Mr. Ang Thiam Thuo from
Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur was ecstatic when he
received a call from BHPetrol with the news that
he won the grand prize in the final segment of the
contest. He could not believe his good luck when
he received the call on his 55th birthday. He said,
“It was my best birthday present and my loyalty
towards BHPetrol finally gives me a present which
I will forever remember. I have been being using
Infiniti Advanced2X and the petrol is perfect for
my car in terms of power and great mileage. Use
it and you will know what I mean!”
With Infiniti Advanced2X 95 and 97, motorists
will enjoy savings from the very first tankful, in
addition to top petrol performance because of
the quality additives developed with world-class
German technology which are treated at the
maximum quantity of 800 parts per million.
The ‘Save & Win’ contest which started
on 1 September 2011, ended on 30 November
2011.

An Enchanting Christmas
at the Curve
Shoppers from Klang Valley and beyond were mesmerised and
captivated by the Christmas decorations at the Curve recently. Its
Centre Court was transformed into an enchanting fairy-tale kingdom with
a magnificent castle as its centre piece. Themed ‘An Enchanting Christmas
Kingdom: Where Wondrous Surprises Await,’ the Curve also lined up a
variety of activities where shoppers can regale in the spirit of Christmas.
These included a major dance production entitled, ‘Celebration of Joy:
A Christmas Dance Production’ with fairy-tale characters such as ‘Queen
Clarissa’, ‘Princess Sherwina’, ‘Prince Dash’, ‘Judith Joy’, ‘Puddin Tum-Tums’,
‘Proteus the Snow Wizard’, ‘Snowbell the Ice Fairy’, ‘Suzy Snowflake’ and
‘Jester the Teaser’.
In addition, seeing that Christmas would not be complete without a
Christmas tree, the Curve pulled out all stops with its 30-feet tall Christmas
tree this year. Located at the Piazza, the tress was surrounded by golden
arches and a garden of smaller Christmas trees adorned with colourful
ornaments. The Street as well as the Asian and Western courtyards of the
Curve were also decorated with hanging snowflakes, twinkling fairy lights
and festive garlands.
Mdm. Adele D. Flores, Centre Manager, the Curve said, “Christmas is a time for families
and friends to come together. At the Curve, we are pleased to see parents and children,
the young and old celebrate this joyous occasion and be enchanted by the Christmas
spirit in this festive atmosphere.”
Home Fair
(30 September - 9 October 2011)
The theme for this year Home Fair was ‘Make
Your House A Home.’ All the Curve home tenants
participated in the on-ground promotions providing great
deals to shoppers. Shoppers were also given the chance
to experience floral arrangement first-hand and colouring
activities for the kids. Also, 10 winners were selected in
the ‘Transform My Space’ contest. These lucky winners
brought home great prizes such as home theatre systems,
LCD tvs, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Cellini leather recliner as well as
paint and tiles vouchers.
