Mohd Nor (R) <strong>Boustead</strong> Heavy Industries Corporation <strong>Berhad</strong> (BHIC) participated in the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) held in Langkawi from 6 to 10 December 2011. 17 of its vendors were also invited to take part in the event by promoting their products and services. The event attracted more than 400 exhibitors from 56 countries. BHIC’s pavilion attracted many dignitaries, among whom were the then H.R.H. Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah; H.R.H. Bhd. from the Directorate General Technical Airworthiness of the Malaysian Armed Forces. The certification was for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of Eurocopter AS555SN Fennec helicopters. EVENT 3: Signing of contract between <strong>Boustead</strong> Naval Shipyard Sdn. Bhd. and the <strong>Go</strong>vernment of Malaysia for the supply and delivery of spares, maintenance, integrated logistic support and training for the 17th patrol vessel squadron of The Royal Malaysian Navy. Bhd. and Rhienmetall Defence Electronics GmbH for the manufacture and supply of cargo loading system assemblies for AIRBUS A400M, A380, A330 aircraft. <strong>Boustead</strong> Naval Shipyard awarded RM9 billion contract <strong>Boustead</strong> Naval Shipyard Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded a contract with a ceiling value of RM9 billion on 16 December 2011 by the Ministry of Defence for the construction of six second generation littoral combat ships (Frigate Class). The delivery of the first ship was expected in 2017, with follow-up ships every six months thereafter.
