On December 2, the day of the Open House, the visual artists<br />
will have chairs <strong>and</strong> tables near their allotted wall space in the<br />
Great Hall. The visual artists may use their part of the table to<br />
display more work within the image size restrictions cited<br />
above, <strong>and</strong> their cards <strong>and</strong> biography if they wish. Visual<br />
artists who will be present on the day of the Open House<br />
should confirm their attendance with the Art Committee.<br />

Stave off the coming darkness of winter with a bonus Ad Lib<br />
Friday! That’s right kids, there are five Fridays in <strong>November</strong><br />
this year, which means five chances for Friday Night Fun.<br />
<strong>November</strong> 2—Paris, je t’aime: Earlier this year, Damon Lum<br />
visited the city of Paris for the first time. A decade<br />
earlier, Rob Prince did the same. Join these two<br />
photographers as they share their first impressions of the<br />
city they came to love. And you can join in the fun, too:<br />
bring along any photos (on a USB stick or a disc), songs,<br />
stories or memories you have of your adventures in Paris,<br />
<strong>and</strong> share them with the group. In our very own Parisian<br />
Studio, starting at 8:00 p.m. Bar opens at 7:00 p.m.<br />
<strong>November</strong> 9—JOTO, aka Jammin’ On The One, takes over the<br />
Studio for our regular monthly evening of improv, sketch<br />
comedy <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>-up, with hosts Damon Lum <strong>and</strong> Stevie Jay.<br />
The fun starts at 8:00 p.m., with a warm-up/introductory<br />
workshop for potential participants beginning at 6:00 p.m.<br />
<strong>November</strong> 16—The English Speaking Union, will once<br />
again be holding its “Shakespeare on the Platform”<br />
competition for secondary students across the GTA <strong>and</strong><br />
further afield on <strong>November</strong> 16, at 6:00 p.m. (note the early<br />
start time) in the Great Hall. Join host Nancy Kee in the<br />
audience to offer encouragement to these young people.<br />
After the competition please come to the Studio with your<br />
drinks to discuss the evening.<br />
<strong>November</strong> 23—Rachel Persaud <strong>and</strong> her gang of talented<br />
friends take over the Great Hall to make more Ad Lib Friday<br />
evening musical magic! Not to be missed. Bar at 7:00 p.m.<br />

<strong>November</strong> 30—“Ad Lib welcomes back TAG—the Toronto<br />
Art Group!” The founding members of TAG, Samantha<br />
Rodin, Farhad Nargol-O’Neill, Leanne Shea Rhem, <strong>and</strong> Jillian<br />
MacLachlan formalized their new collective in <strong>2012</strong>, <strong>and</strong><br />
already have exhibitions <strong>and</strong> public commissions under their<br />
collective belt. This evening the group will be creating an<br />
event centred around “mixed media installation expression.”<br />
See you in the Studio at 8:00 p.m. Bar opens at 7:00 p.m.<br />
Photography Group<br />
The <strong>November</strong> meeting will take place on Wednesday,<br />
<strong>November</strong> 7 at The Royal Winter Fair. We plan to meet at<br />
6:30 p.m., just inside the Heritage Court entrance (which can<br />
viewed on line) very close to the ticket booths.<br />
So please join us with charged cameras <strong>and</strong> empty memory<br />
sticks to capture shots of animals, people <strong>and</strong> the<br />
