When Wilf was here in January to take bull pictures, we did not have our heifers picked out for the sale and defi nitely ran out of time to have them done if we would have had them sorted. These heifers won’t be highly fi tted, but will go on to make some real good brood cows. We’re proud of what some of these females have done for their new owners that have been purchased out of our spring sale. Like the Red chief daughter that McIntosh <strong>Livestock</strong> (Blair and Stephanie McIntosh) purchased out of this sale. They have sold many high dollar progeny off of IPU Red Pocahontas 139M and she now heads their donor program. We all know about the IPU Ms Ribeye 71N cow that Robb Farms purchased for $4,000 through this sale. They have sold over $100,000 of progeny off her and she remains one of the most powerful and dominant cows in the breed. And the Mader’s from Carstairs, AB have been great supporters of our sale and continue to have great success with the progeny from these heifers. A heifer that old eagle eye Randy picked out of our sale, was the dam of Mader P Royal Arms 36W, the $15,500 super red bull that sold at Checkers ‘09 to Perkins, Conray and Triple R <strong>Simmentals</strong> of Manitoba. Like I said, these heifers aren’t going to be over fi tted, but there are some really good heifers selling. Full Fleckvieh. Here’s a young, smooth polled full Fleckvieh bull that we like better every day. He’s very colorfast, smooth made, lots of rib and mothered by just an excellent Houston cow that produced one of our high sellers last year, the great Laredo son, 62U, that sold to Rendezvous Farms in Manitoba. Ms Houston 25R has just an absolute perfect udder and just calved the other day, having a dark red Romano heifer calf. This young bull with his smoothness, should really calve well and his progeny should be very saleable. 29 IPU Laramie 62U Mader P Royal Arms 36W Sold for $15,500 at Checkers ‘09 - His dam was purchased out of our sale.
