Servicing, diagnostics, accessories, and of course cars looking
their best – this is what this year’s offer of TTM Automotive Technology
Fair and Poznań Automotive Meetings looked like. During
four days, as many as 22,000 specialists and car lovers visited
the fair halls.
Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Saab, Skoda, Subaru, Suzuki,
Tata, Toyota, and Uaz
The Poznań audience could not complain about the shortage
of attractions – among the presented models there were models
not yet available at car showrooms!
Once again the fair was a meeting point for the enthusiasts of
car design prepared by Wojciech Sierpowski, the Polish juror in
the Car of the Year competition. The special guest of Design-
Forum 2009 was Janusz Kaniewski, Polish designer working for,
amongst others, Pininfarina studio, who ran a workshop for
young students of this profession. It was the MTP area where
enthusiasts of tuned cars inaugurated the new season. Clubs
associating owners of particular models as well as individual
owners of cars that had been tuned to various degrees participated
in the inauguration.

FAIR OF ROBOTICS, AUTOMATICS, CONTROL
AND MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT
A successful debut
To address the needs of companies
from the field of
industrial automatics, robotics,
measurements
as well as electronics
and production processes control
systems, for the first time, a specialist
International Fair of Robotics,
Automatics, Control and Measurement
Equipment AUTOMA
was launched in Poznań in May
this year. It was a successful debut
with 52 companies participating in
this event.
A meeting of professionals
and enthusiasts
Already on the first day, almost 3,000 visitors came to the fair. The interest
in the exhibition intensified during the following days. Most of all this
was due to interesting presentations of the exhibitors. Of particular interest
were production innovations. As the stands were equipped in high
power connections and compressed air it was possible to perform demonstrations
of even large size machines in operation. This sort of presentation
facilitated explaining the technical details in a more effective way.
Although the talks held at the fair were mostly of the business kind, there
were also scientific – and at time philosophical – discussions. During the
fair there was also a number of popular science events. The WObit company
together with MTP and Poznań University of Technology prepared
the Great Robotic Event – the largest meeting of this type in Poland. It
arouse interest not only among the professionals but also brought to the
fair many enthusiasts of robotics. As part of the Great Robotic Event, there
were, among others, races of Maor 12 robots on the racecourse with obstacles,
robo-football Maor Cup, or even robo-wrestling of two robots of
the minisumo Maor 12 class on a ring. Enthusiasts of astronomy and robotics
were able to test the mobility of a mobile robot Explorer in the specially
prepared scenery resembling the planet Mars.
