Biddestone & Slaughterford Today
Slaughterford
Slaughterford is more isolated in its valley because it can only
be approached by means of three, steep, one-track lanes. It
has retained its tranquillity and small size (23 dwellings) while
its abundant and unique bio-diversity has so far been
conserved for posterity. Most of the houses here are also
Grade II Listed buildings.
“Biddestone and Slaughterford should be maintained as a
rural community for the benefit of Wiltshire people.”
“Slaughterford and its surroundings are increasingly rare
and so should be protected from the intrusion of anything
that may compromise it visually and culturally.”
