side with English version. This features the Caasi <strong>Bamboo</strong> Technology.<br />
8. <strong>Bamboo</strong> Farming in different language <strong>and</strong> dialects (English, Pilipino, Visaya <strong>and</strong> others) published by the<br />
DENR-ERDB/FAO-UNDP <strong>Bamboo</strong> Research <strong>and</strong> Development Project in 1995.<br />
9. Philippine Erect <strong>Bamboo</strong>s: A Field Identification Guide written by Rojo, Roxas, Pitargue,Jr. <strong>and</strong> Brinas <strong>and</strong><br />
was published by the FPRDI-DOST which include both the native <strong>and</strong> exotic bamboo species. As a guide it<br />
provides key to the identification of each species.<br />
10. <strong>Bamboo</strong> Production in the Philippines written by Virtucio <strong>and</strong> Roxas (2003) - the book provides a wealth of<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mation on the bamboo industry, the bamboos <strong>and</strong> their habit, propagation methods, plantation<br />
establishment, maintenance <strong>and</strong> protection, shoot production, culm production <strong>and</strong> bambusetum development.<br />
11. <strong>Bamboo</strong>, people, the environment: Propagation <strong>and</strong> Management, INBAR Technical Report. Volume 1<br />

Training On <strong>Bamboo</strong> Production<br />
There are quite a lot of trainings related to bamboo production <strong>and</strong> utilization that have been conducted in the<br />
country. These trainings are mainly or secondarily offered by the following training providers:<br />
1. Technology Resource <strong>and</strong> Livelihood Resource Center (TLRC) provides training on livelihood. Modules on<br />
bamboo production <strong>and</strong> utilization are included.<br />
2. International Rural Reconstruction Movement (IRRM) <strong>and</strong> Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement<br />
(PRRM)<br />
3. South East <strong>Asia</strong> Research Center <strong>for</strong> Agriculture in the 1980’s where I was tapped as resource person <strong>and</strong> am<br />
proud to say that many of the State Colleges <strong>and</strong> Universities that participated in bamboo training have adopted,<br />
even modified <strong>and</strong> improved the technology.<br />
4. Institute of Agro<strong>for</strong>estry of the College of Forestry <strong>and</strong> Natural Resources <strong>and</strong> the Institute of Plant Breeding,<br />
both of UPLB.<br />
5. Non-Government Organization (NGO)/Foundation (like Philippine Business <strong>for</strong> Social Progress- PBSP));<br />
