Robt. Johnson, Carrying concealed<br />

John Fultz, after being arrested, was<br />
released on bail and married the<br />
woman in the case, Nannie Pearl<br />
Drewen.<br />
Wm. Griffin, Noah Smith and W. L.<br />
Hall were appointed Jury<br />
Commissioners.<br />
A rule was issued against Mrs. Lazzie<br />
Howlett (Mrs. John Edington to show<br />
cause why her child, Lillie Howlett,<br />
should not be taken from her and<br />
given to the father, Leonard Howlett.<br />
<strong>The</strong> rule is returnable and will be<br />
tried tomorrow, Saturday.<br />
<strong>The</strong> only case tried since our last<br />
issue was that <strong>of</strong> F. J. Hagan VS J. H.<br />
Linn, for damages on an order for<br />
delivery for cattle taken up under the<br />
new stock law. <strong>The</strong> jury was<br />
peremptorily instructed by Judge<br />
Jones and returned a verdict <strong>of</strong> one<br />
cent and costs.<br />
A good many people were watching<br />
his case with considerable interest,<br />
expecting to get a judicial<br />
interpretation <strong>of</strong> the validity and<br />
extent <strong>of</strong> the new stock law, under<br />

***Petroleum Wagon<br />
<strong>The</strong> practicality <strong>of</strong> these carriages<br />
seems to be placed without a doubt,<br />
within reach <strong>of</strong> many people.<br />
Compared to horse and buggy travel,<br />
the advantage is in favor <strong>of</strong> the<br />
petroleum carriage by three to one.<br />
