Dear EOF Student Achievement Award Recipients: 

The Educational Opportunity Fund Board of Directors passed Resolution 9:2011 on April 21, 2011 to 

acknowledge and congratulate the student recipients of the 2011 EOF Senior Academic Achievement 

Awards. The tradition of annually recognizing the academic achievements and exceptional leadership 

skills of EOF graduating seniors began more than 20 years ago and we are pleased that it continues. The 

EOF academic achievement awards were presented in four different award categories to 662 graduating 

seniors enrolled at a New Jersey college or university through the EOF program. 

Since the fall semester of 1968, the EOF Program has proven that when provided with the opportunity, 

confidence and support to exceed, students like you will rise above all obstacles and challenges and 

achieve excellence. Congratulations on your outstanding accomplishments. 

This accomplishment is a credit to you, but also continues a record of academic excellence exhibited by 

EOF students for over four decades. You join a group of outstanding alumni who have preceded you. I 

encourage you to continue your education and to set high career goals. Go out and make significant 

contributions to your community and society as a whole. 

EOF is an investment in people. It is an investment in the future. EOF exists to ensure that all people, 

regardless of their prior circumstances, have the opportunity to receive the higher education

SENIOR ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS* 

Each year, the EOF Board of Directors and the Commission on Higher Education/EOF 

Office invite campus programs to identify graduating EOF students who have 

demonstrated exceptional achievement during their college careers. Presented to EOF 

seniors who are expected to graduate at the end of the spring 2011 term or who 

graduated at the end of the summer or fall 2010 terms, the criteria for the specific 

award categories are as follows: 

Distinguished Scholar Award 

(# of awardees = 5) 

Presented to any EOF senior whose cumulative grade point average is 4.00. 

Outstanding Academic Achievement Award 


Presented to EOF seniors whose cumulative grade point averages are 3.50 – 3.99. 

Academic Achievement Award 


Presented to EOF seniors whose cumulative grade point averages are 3.2 – 3.49. 

Outstanding Achievement Award 


Presented to one graduating EOF student from each campus program who is considered 

by the EOF director and staff to best exemplify the spirit and intent of the EOF program. 

In selecting the recipient, consideration is given to the student’s leadership skills, 

contributions to the program and personal obstacles that were necessary to overcome 

to succeed and attain his or her graduation goal.

Future Plans: To travel to Europe and see some of the wonders of the world and 

then pursue a master’s degree in Communications. In ten years 

Lynette aspires to become either a film editor or producer in 

Hollywood. Lynette believes that the sky is the limit and she can 

reach every star she desires.

Future Plans: Erika plans to study for a master’s degree in Human Resources 

with the goal of becoming a general manager of a large

Future Plans: Syedah plans to become a radio personality during the morning 

show drive. With the knowledge and dedication she has gained 

from working with 95.5 WPLJ FM, she believes that anything is

criminal lawyer.

conclusion of the Fall 2010 semester. She is currently enrolled at 

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and plans to teach 

students at the K-5 grade levels.

apply to medical school with expected entry of fall 2012.
