Registration Hours
The meeting registration desk is located in the lovely
and tranquil Haleakala Gardens of the Grand Wailea
adjacent to the Haleakala Ballroom. Name badges
and conference materials can be picked up at this
location. If you purchased an abstract book, this will
be available for pick-up at this time as well. The desk
will be staffed during the following hours.
• Sunday, October 28th ..........6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Monday, October 29th .........7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Tuesday, October 30th .........7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Registration
Registration fees include the opening reception
on Sunday night, Social mixer on Monday night,
refreshment breaks, continental breakfast Sunday,
Monday and Tuesday, Poster Session coffee
breaks, scientific sessions, and one program book.
Registration fees exclude hotel costs. On-site
registration will be accepted with payment via
checks and credit cards.
Catering
The following catered events are included with
theregistration fee:
• Sunday Opening Reception (Island themed hors
d ’oeuvres, noodle bar, fresh island fruits, sweets
station, and cash bar)
• Sunday, Monday and Tuesday Breakfast (fruit,
bagels, danish, coffee/tea) – Note: Street Smarts
of Science, Grant Writing Workshop and Women
and Diversity Session will also have hot breakfast
sandwiches.
• Monday Social Mixer (Grilled Pizza and 1 ticket
for complimentary beer or soda and cash bar)
• AM / PM Poster Session coffee and snack breaks
• Sunday morning break is coffee only
Lunch On Your Own
The Grand Wailea offers several quick dining options
for lunch at their on-site restaurants and cafés.
Café Kula – Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Offers lighter fare in a casual setting: hot and
cold dishes including gourmet sandwiches,
quiches, pizzas, salads and burgers. Fresh fruit,
home baked goods and Lappert’s Ice Cream
round out the offerings.
• Café Kula will offer a special prefix menu for SLB
participants as well as their á la carte menu.
• Dress Code: Casual resort wear. Cover-ups
required for swimwear.
Bistro Molokini
• Offers a menu of mouth-watering California
and Island specialties, plus all your favorites.
Breathtaking views of the Pacific and nearby
islands served with every meal.
• A “Wiki Wiki” menu for SLB participants will be
offered with options for you to choose that will
enable guests to get back to the meetings in a
timely fashion.
• Dress Code: Casual resort wear. Cover-ups
required for swimwear.
Volcano Bar
• Offers salads, sandwiches, wraps and burgers
poolside amidst the pools and cascading
waterfalls. Refresh with a tropical drink or
smoothie while enjoying the beach or pool.
• Dress Code: No restrictions.
Other nearby options for lunch can be found at The
Shops at Wailea which is less than a 5 minute walk from
the hotel. Various restaurants offer table service as well
as options for quick, inexpensive grab-n-go meals.
