The Medjugorje Story and Message
Since 1981, in a small village in Bosnia-Hercegovina named
Medjugorje, the Blessed Virgin Mary has been reportedly
appearing and giving messages to the world. She tells us that
God has sent her to our world, and these years she is
spending with us are a time of grace granted by God. In her
own words she tells us, “I have come to tell the world that God
exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy this fullness and
peace, you must return to God.”
Our Lady’s mission is one of peace and love. She has come to
earth to reeducate us and to help us convert and re-center
our lives on God. Our Lady’s role has always been one of
guiding people to her Son, Jesus. What a fantastic
opportunity we have before us! It is important that we
understand both the magnitude and the urgency of Our
Lady’s call to conversion, and that we respond with all our
hearts.
We must realize that satan is real. He uses us for his own end
and purposes. His main purpose is destruction, destruction
of love, peace, faith, family and life. Just as God gave David
five stones with which to defeat Goliath, Our Lady is also
giving us five Stones or Weapons we can use to defeat satan.
They are:
� Daily Prayer (of the Rosary)
� Fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays
� Daily Reading of the Bible
� Monthly Confession
� Holy Eucharist: Mass and Adoration

Our Lady, as in all her apparitions throughout history, reminds
us that our personal role is great. Each of us must
personally respond to the Lord with conversion. By abandoning
ourselves to God, we exhibit confidence and trust in
Him. When we completely surrender ourselves to Him in
trust, we will experience true interior peace and tranquility.
This peace will then extend to others and lead us to experience
and manifest true Christian joy in our lives.
The Medjugorje Devotion
The order of service for these weekly evening devotions follows
as closely as possible, with necessary adaptations, the
evening services in the parish church of Saint James in Medjugorje.
It is our hope that participation in these devotions
will lead you to a greater awareness of God’s healing presence
and allow you to be led by Our Lady to follow her Son
more closely.
The official position of the Church as stated by Pope Paul VI
in 1966 is that in matters of private revelation, the faithful are
free to promote and propagate the messages, provided that in
doing so, they willingly submit themselves to the ultimate official
pronouncement of the Church and that the content of the
messages does not constitute a danger to faith and morals.

The Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and
earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was
buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again
from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at
the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He
will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy
kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art
thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world
without end. Amen.
This is prayed after each decade:
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell.
Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of
Thy mercy.

Exposition of the
Most Blessed Sacrament

O Salutaris Hostia, Uni Trinoque Domino,
Quae coeli pandis ostium! Sit sempiterna gloria;
Bella premunt hostilia; Qui vitam sine termino
Da robur fer auxilium. Nobis donet in patria.
Amen.
Once the Blessed Sacrament has been exposed, all spend a
few minutes in silent adoration. In praying for healing and
deliverance, it is opportune to reflect on the following:
In many of the healings and deliverances that Jesus
performed, He accredited the release of His miracle-working
power to the faith of the recipient.
“`Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to Him,
‘Yes, Lord.’ After Jesus touched their eyes, He said,
‘According to your faith, let it be done to you,’ and their eyes
were opened.” (Matt 9:28-30)
Silently invite the miracle-working power of Jesus into your
body and your life so that by believing in the Divine Power to
heal, you may be made whole.
Silently make an act of faith in Jesus’ power to heal , deliver
and to work miracles. Remind yourself that you are in His
healing Presence. You may wish then to pray silently, with
faith, the following:
“I rebuke you, (mention sickness or situation) in the Holy
Name of Jesus, and I command you to leave my body (family/
life).”

Matthew 6:24-34
(This is to be read in silent meditation.)
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one
and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise
the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you
will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is
not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store
away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are
you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you
by worrying add a single hour to your life?
And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of
the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that
not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of
these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which
is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he
not much more clothe you, you of little faith? So do not
worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?”
or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these
things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all
these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not
worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Prayers for Healing
(Prayers for healing are prayed in Medjugorje after the evening
Mass. The following prayers are prayed aloud by the priest in
the name of all present.)
J
esus, You came because of the sick and the sinful.
Therefore, we turn to You to ask You to heal us, body
and soul. You know, O Jesus, that sin harms and injures
the whole human being and that it destroys relation-
ships between mankind and You. But there is no sin and no
illness that You cannot drive away with Your Almighty Word.
There is no wound that You cannot heal.
M
ary, you have called us to pray for healing. We
wish to do so now. We ask you to join our prayers
with yours. Pray with us now that we may be
worthy of obtaining by prayer the graces we are in need of
personally and for all those who are sick and infirm and in
need.
(Remain in silent prayer.)

Prayers for Deliverance
From the Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew:
“And Jesus got into the boat and His disciples followed Him.
Without warning, a violent storm came up on the sea, and the
boat began to be swamped by waves. Jesus was sleeping
soundly, so they made their way toward Him and woke Him.
‘Where is your courage? How little faith you have!’ Then He
stood up and took the winds and sea to task. Complete calm
ensued; the men were dumbfounded. ‘What sort of man is
this,’ they said, ‘that even the winds and the sea obey
Him?’” (Matthew 8: 23-24)
J
esus, You entered into the storms of this world. You
also enter into the boat of every life. You are present,
for Your Name is Emmanuel: God with us, God for us.
So we are asking You now to come into our lives. The boats
of our lives are also being swamped and overwhelmed. Enter,
O Jesus, into the depths of our souls. We are lost. Stand
and tell our unrest to be calmed; tell the waves of death that
surround us to relent. Say the word to appease our hearts
that they may be able to hear Your
divine and creative Word.
(Remain in silent adoration.)
Come, Jesus, into the boats of our families and of the whole
world. Let our cries awaken You. Stretch out Your hand
that calm may follow. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Come to
where we are most wounded.

Come, Jesus, into those boats of life which stand anchored
to bad habits, to drugs, to alcohol, to bodily pleasures and
which cannot move forward. Jesus, calm the storms. Let
all people hear Your voice which brings peace.

esus, You accompany us on our voyage of life. You are
our God. We adore You and we glorify You, for You
alone are the Holy One and You alone are the Lord.
We believe in You, and we place everything at Your disposal
with complete trust.
We wish to abandon ourselves to Your love and mercy.
With You and Your Mother we say, “Let Your will be done to
us in health and sickness, in success and failure, in joys and
sorrows, in life and death, in the present and in eternity.”
Jesus, we have often been indecisive in striving for the good.
We have often done only our own will and thus remain
wounded. Heal our unbelief and the resistance that we have
offered when we have failed to understand the Father’s Will.

ary, our Mother, pray for us, that we may receive
the grace of being able to choose to follow Jesus
with unwavering faith and resolute wills.

esus, be the Master of our souls. Deliver us from all
effects of occult or superstitious practices. By the
power of Your Holy Name and the merits of Your Holy
Cross, deliver us from every consequence of witchcraft and
sorcery. Rest in every soul and restore peace to us.

esus,
we renounce every sin. We renounce satan and
all his works, seductions, lies and promises. We renounce
every idol and all idolatry. We renounce our
inability to forgive, our hatred, our selfishness and haughtiness.
We renounce all the desires which have caused us to
forget or ignore the Will of God the Father. We

Prayer for Physical Healing
From the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke
“As Jesus went, the people pressed around Him. And a woman
who had had a flow of blood for twelve years and had spent all
her living on physicians and could not be healed by anyone,

Prayer for Healing
Beloved Padre Pio, today I come to add my prayer to the
thousands of prayers offered to thee every day by those who
love and venerate thee. They ask for cures and healings,
earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for body and mind.
And because of thy friendship with the Lord, He heals those
thou doth ask to be healed, and forgives those thou forgiveth.
Through thy visible wounds of the Cross, which thou didst
bear for fifty years, thou wert chosen in our time to glorify the
crucified Jesus. Because the Cross has been replaced by other
symbols, please help us to bring it back in our midst, for we
acknowledge it is the only true sign of salvation.
As we lovingly recall the wounds that pierced thy hands, feet
and side, we not only remember the blood thou didst shed in
pain, but thy smile, and the invisible halo of sweet-smelling
flowers that surrounded thee, the perfume of sanctity.
In thy kindness, please help me with my own special request:

Preghiera Alla Madonna
Augusta Regina del cielo a Signora degli Angeli, che ricevesti
da Dio il potere e la missione di schiacciare la testa a satana,
noi ti preghiamo umilmente di inviare le legioni celesti,
affinché sotto i tuoi ordini inseguano i demoni, li combattano
dappertutto, reprimano la loro audacia e li respingano
nell’abisso. Chi é come Dio?
O buona e tenera Madre, tu sarai sempre il nostro amore e la
nostra speranza.
O divina Madre, manda i Santi Angeli per difenderci e per
respingere lontano da noi il crudele nemico. Madre di Gesú,
proteggici. Cosí sia.

Lucy, writing in the third person,
gives the account of the December
10, 1925, visit of Our Lady and
the Child Jesus:
"The Most Holy Virgin appeared
to her (Sister Lucy), and by Her
side, elevated on a luminous
cloud, was the Child Jesus. The
Most Holy Virgin rested Her hand
on her (Sister Lucy's) shoulder
and as She did so, She showed her
(Sister Lucy) a heart encircled by
thorns, which She was holding in Her other hand. At the
same time, the Child said:
"Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy
Mother, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful
men pierce It at every moment, and there is no one to
make an act of reparation to remove them."
Then the Most Holy Virgin said to Sister Lucy:
"Look, My daughter at My Heart surrounded by thorns
with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment
by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, try
to console Me and announce in My Name that I promise
to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces
necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday
of five consecutive months shall confess, receive
Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary,
and keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating
on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary with the
intention of making reparation to Me."
