Eligibilities<br />

AUSTRALASIAN BREEDERS’ CROWN<br />

A series for two, three and four-<strong>year</strong>-<strong>old</strong> pacers and trotters in Australia.<br />

Their ultimate goal is a spot in the grand finals on the famous and lucrative ‘Breeders<br />

Crown Super Sunday’ when more than $1.5million in prizemoney is on offer. The 2012<br />

Breeders Crown finals will be held at Tabcorp Park, Melton, Victoria in August 2012.<br />

VICBRED SERIES<br />

A $6.3million series which incorporates: win bonuses $2.5million, Super Series<br />

$1.8million, Vicbred only races $1million, Breeders Bonuses $1million. Vicbred 2yo,<br />

3yo or 4yo-eligible horses compete in separate events for colts and geldings, fillies and<br />

trotters in their age bracket. Pacers heats of $10,000, Semi-finals of $20,000, Finals<br />

$100,000. Trotters heats $10,000 and finals $50,000. A series of $7000 trophy races<br />

is run as an adjunct to the series.<br />

AUSTRALIAN PACING GOLD 2YO RACE SERIES<br />

Australian Pacing G<strong>old</strong>-eligible 2yos can continue to sustain for APG’s $1million 2yo<br />

Race Series, as well as APG’s G<strong>old</strong> Bonus Scheme, which sees colts eligible to win a<br />

$2000 bonus for their first win as a 2yo, while fillies are eligible to win up to $6000 in<br />

bonuses, earning a $2000 bonus for each of their first wins as a 2yo, 3yo and 4yo.<br />

There are two divisions of the 2yo race series – one for colts & geldings, and one for<br />

fillies. Both divisions of the 2yo series consist of a single round of $20,000 heats, leading<br />

into two semi-finals of $20,000, and culminating in a $307,000 Group One final. A<br />

series of $10,000 consolations is also run in Victoria, NSW and Queensland (subject to<br />

nominations) for horses which failed to progress to either the semi-finals or final.<br />

BATHURST GOLD CROWN<br />

The Alabar G<strong>old</strong> Crown Carnival 2012 is held in late March: it features six race<br />

meetings. The 2yo finals on the last Saturday night of March each offer $100,000 in<br />

prizemoney.<br />
