BTEC Creative Media Production<br />

What will I study?<br />

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production has been developed in the creative media<br />

sector to focus on providing vocationally-related education and training for those who are intending to work<br />

in the creative media sector or to progress to higher education. It is broadly equivalent to three A Levels. The<br />

qualification provides opportunities for learners to develop skills, knowledge and understanding relevant<br />

to the media industries in an applied learning context giving learners the opportunity to develop a range of<br />

skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.<br />

The benefit of joining this course:<br />

• it gives opportunity to enter employment in the media sector, apprenticeships or to progress on to<br />

• university<br />

There will be various opportunities for students go on work related trips to broaden their experience on the<br />

course. These visits will take place each year in order to reinforce learning. Trips this year include a three day<br />

educational event with media sector related talks at Disneyland Paris.<br />

How will I be assessed?<br />

All assessment is internally assessed by a teacher through a portfolio of work produced by the student for<br />

each unit that they study. The method of assessment will be varied according to the nature of the<br />

qualification being studied and will range from formal assignments being written to delivering a<br />

presentation. There are NO exams.
