The International Dimension
We enjoy an unrivalled reputation for ensuring our students are prepared for the future, wherever that may
lie. Through the curriculum students learn about global issues so they may become well informed global
citizens. Students are provided with an unprecedented range of opportunities for international educational
visits. We have links with a school in Zambia and our Post 16 students visit the school for three weeks
undertaking voluntary work. In recent years, visits have included the US, Poland, Slovakia, Iceland, France
and Russia to name but a few. Our students have undertaken projects throughout the world and regularly
participate in the prestigious Model United Nations in Geneva.
Leading Edge
Many of today’s graduate courses did not exist ten years ago:
E-business, nanotechnology, supply chain management, 3D
design, recycling technology, and new media are just a few
examples and are now options for our students to consider
in the future. As an academy with specialisms in Technology
and the Visual Arts we are at the leading edge of progress and
students are exposed to cutting edge technology to give
them the best possible head start.
Major investment in the IT infrastructure has made
the CTC a completely wireless site. The latest
hardware and software is at students’ fingertips.
Extensive use of laptops and iPad’s enhance learning,
while a new suite of Apple Macs facilitates the development of specialist skills in Art, Media and
Music.
The Technology Department boasts industry standard equipment, while multimedia is
at the heart of teaching and learning.
