4 AADHAAR IMPLEMENTATION IN RAJASTHAN<br />
<strong>UID</strong>AI has partnered with State <strong>Government</strong>, Banks and a number <strong>of</strong> other<br />
agencies to deliver AADHAR to residents <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rajasthan</strong>. A Memorandum <strong>of</strong><br />
Understand<strong>in</strong>g was signed between the Unique Identification Authority <strong>of</strong> India<br />
(<strong>UID</strong>IAI) and the <strong>Government</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rajasthan</strong> on 28th May, 2010 for the<br />
implementation <strong>of</strong> the <strong>UID</strong> project <strong>in</strong> the state.<br />
The follow<strong>in</strong>g committees/authorities have been constituted / appo<strong>in</strong>ted for the<br />
successful implementation <strong>of</strong> the project:<br />
i. Empowered Cab<strong>in</strong>et Committee headed by Hon’ble Chief M<strong>in</strong>ister for<br />
implementation, monitor<strong>in</strong>g and policy decisions.<br />
ii. State Level Advisory board (also called <strong>UID</strong>IC) under the chairmanship <strong>of</strong><br />
the Chief Secretary, <strong>Rajasthan</strong> to oversee and guide the implementation <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>UID</strong> project across the State.<br />
iii. State level Jo<strong>in</strong>t Work<strong>in</strong>g Group, a committee <strong>of</strong> Secretaries for smooth<br />
function<strong>in</strong>g and regular monitor<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> the progress <strong>of</strong> biometric and<br />
demographic data collection.<br />
iv. The Department <strong>of</strong> IT & C, GOR is Nodal Department for <strong>UID</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Rajasthan</strong><br />
v. CORE is a committee <strong>of</strong> registrars under chairmanship <strong>of</strong> Secretary, IT&C to<br />
oversee coord<strong>in</strong>ation <strong>of</strong> efforts by different registrars for <strong>UID</strong> enrolments <strong>in</strong><br />
State.<br />
vi. State Registrars for allocation <strong>of</strong> <strong>UID</strong> numbers to the residents <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rajasthan</strong><br />
a. Department <strong>of</strong> Information Technology and Communication, GOR<br />
b. Food & Supplies Department<br />
c. Revenue Department<br />
d. Rural Department, MNREGA<br />
However, Department <strong>of</strong> Information Technology & Communication, GOR<br />
is the only functional Registrar, at present.<br />
vii. District Registrars: The adm<strong>in</strong>istrative head <strong>of</strong> the revenue districts<br />
(District Collectors/Magistrates) <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rajasthan</strong> have been identified as the<br />
District Registrars for the project on behalf <strong>of</strong> State. As district registrar they<br />
