4 AADHAAR IMPLEMENTATION IN RAJASTHAN
UIDAI has partnered with State Government, Banks and a number of other
agencies to deliver AADHAR to residents of Rajasthan. A Memorandum of
Understanding was signed between the Unique Identification Authority of India
(UIDIAI) and the Government of Rajasthan on 28th May, 2010 for the
implementation of the UID project in the state.
The following committees/authorities have been constituted / appointed for the
successful implementation of the project:
i. Empowered Cabinet Committee headed by Hon’ble Chief Minister for
implementation, monitoring and policy decisions.
ii. State Level Advisory board (also called UIDIC) under the chairmanship of
the Chief Secretary, Rajasthan to oversee and guide the implementation of
the UID project across the State.
iii. State level Joint Working Group, a committee of Secretaries for smooth
functioning and regular monitoring of the progress of biometric and
demographic data collection.
iv. The Department of IT & C, GOR is Nodal Department for UID in Rajasthan
v. CORE is a committee of registrars under chairmanship of Secretary, IT&C to
oversee coordination of efforts by different registrars for UID enrolments in
State.
vi. State Registrars for allocation of UID numbers to the residents of Rajasthan
a. Department of Information Technology and Communication, GOR
b. Food & Supplies Department
c. Revenue Department
d. Rural Department, MNREGA
However, Department of Information Technology & Communication, GOR
is the only functional Registrar, at present.
vii. District Registrars: The administrative head of the revenue districts
(District Collectors/Magistrates) of Rajasthan have been identified as the
District Registrars for the project on behalf of State. As district registrar they
