Indication Switches - Internal switch(es) to monitor the 

positions of the latchbolt and/or locking cam. 

Specify switch options by letters: 

LBM - A switch to monitor the latchbolt. It indicates 

whether or not the latchbolt is extended into the strike. 

LCM - A switch to monitor the locking cam. It indicates 

that the strike is either locked or unlocked. 

LCBM - A switch to monitor both the latchbolt and the 

locking cam. It indicates that the latchbolt is 

extended into the strike, and that the strike is locked. 

LCBMA - This is the same as LCBM, with an additional 

switch activated by the latchbolt, for auxiliary purposes. 

AC Voltages - 12, 24 or 120 VAC, which may produce 

a slight “buzzing” sound. 

AC-SO Voltage - 12, 24, 48, or 120 VAC-SO, which are 

for silent operation, without the “buzzing” sound. They 

use a DC solenoid with an externally attached, full-wave 

bridge rectifier.

401 Series Electric Deadbolts 

Model 401 (Fail Safe) - Locks when energized- Unlocks 

automatically in case of power failure. Under normal operation, 

deadbolt extends when door is closed and control 

switch is in "lock" position. 

Model 401R (Non-Fail Safe) - Unlocks when energized- 

Locks automatically in case of power failure. Under normal 

operation, deadbolt extends when door is closed and control 

switch is in "lock" position. 

Model 401D (Fail Safe) - Power locks and spring unlocks 

when energized- Unlocks automatically in case of power failure. 

Under normal operation, deadbolt extends when door is 

closed and control switch is in "lock" position. 

Model 4O1DR (Non-Fail Safe) - Spring locks and power 

unlocks when energized- Locks automatically in case of 

power failure. Under normal operation, deadbolt extends 

when door is closed and control switch is in "lock" position. 


Compact, Heavy Duty Construction 

Solenoid Actuated - Two continuous duty power surge 

solenoid. Specify 24 VAC or 24 VDC. 

NOTE: All deadbolts are actuated by DC solenoids. 

When primary power source is AC, the deadbolt is 

supplied with an internal bridge rectifier. 

Tapered Deadbolt - Helps locate hole in keeper that 

may be slightly misaligned. 

Door Position Switch (DPS) - An internal switch to 

insure that the deadbolt extends only when door is 

closed. 

Deadlocks Automatically - When door is closed. 

Mortise Mounting 

Reversible - Non-Handed, operates in any position. 

Housing Size - 4-1/2" H x 9" L x 1-3/4" W. Designed to

401-RM Rim Housing 

A two piece housing which encases a 401 Deadbolt for 

mounting on the surface of a door frame. The housing and 

cover are made of 10-gauge, cold-rolled steel and have a 

primed finish. 

Optional Finishes - US4, US10, US10B, US26 or US26D. 

NOTE: The 401 Deadbolt must be purchased separately. 

401-125 Double Size Housing 

To accommodate two 401 Deadbolts for mounting over double 

doors. The same available finishes as above. 

401-90 Adjustable Rim Keeper 

It is adjustable from 1" to 2", from centerline of bolt to face of 

door. If more than 2" is required, a 2" to 3" adjustable rim 

keeper is also available (specify when ordering). 

NOTE: Must be purchased separately. 

401-118 Fence Gate Housing 

A two piece housing which encases a 401 Deadbolt for 

mounting on a fence post. The housing and mounting angle 

are made of 7-gauge steel, and the cover is 10-gauge steel, 

all having a galvanized finish. This housing is adjustable 

and designed to suit most conditions.

can be used for remote door monitoring, to control 

alarms, indication lights and interlocks. One or two 

switches can be supplied, depending on circuit requirements. 

Specify switch options by letters for 710 / 730: 



(An external switch tripper is added into the keeper area 

for the latchbolt.) 



LBMLCM - Two switches wired in series, one to monitor 

the latchbolt and the other to monitor the locking cam. 

Together they indicate the latchbolt is extended into the 

strike, and the strike is locked. (An external switch tripper 

is added into the keeper area for the latchbolt.) 

AC Voltages - 6,12, 24, 49 or 120 VAC, which are for 

silent operation without "buzzing" sound. They use a DC 

solenoid with an externally attached, full-wave bridge 

rectifier.

on the back of each leaf. These studs are cast as an integral

when installed. This anchors the hinge firmly in place. It will

each, which exceeds the testing requirements by NAAMM 

and ASTM. This hinge also has non-removable pins and 

hospital tips, giving it a streamlined design. It is an extraheavy 

weight hinge for heavily used doors.

A non-loadbearing hinge, similar in appearance to the 4-1/2 

FM Hinge, with wires passing through its barrel. These wires 

permit the passage of a constant flow of current from door 

frame to the inside of door when door is equipped with an 

electric lock. The concealed wire chase and hospital tips 

give this hinge a streamlined design. Although a non-loadbearing 

hinge, it is used in place of the center hinge on a 

door.

Investment Cast Leaves with Wire Chase - .188" thick 

leaves, each with a wire chase and hospital tips, either 

bronze alloy or stainless steel. 

Five Wires Provided - 18-gauge wire leads on door leaf.
