Participants will focus on the further development of functional<br />
forms and on developing a personal style. Students will be introduced<br />
to new techniques while continuing to work on basic skills.<br />

Process of Decoupage Behind Glass<br />

Potichomania: Don't let the fancy name fool you! It's nothing<br />
more than decoupage behind glass. In this class you will learn<br />
the tricks and tips to making a glass platter or empty vase look<br />
like painted porcelain. You choose the theme and design of your<br />
piece, cut and decoupage the images, and add the paint to create a<br />
one-of-a-kind work of art. There is a $75 materials fee paid to the<br />
instructor on the first day of class which will cover all supplies and<br />
the glass item (lamp, tray, plate, etc.) that you plan to create. (vase<br />
may be finished as a lamp for an extra fee).<br />

Beginning Photography: How to Tame<br />
Your Camera<br />

Understanding photography isn't as hard as you think, as soon as<br />
you discover what all the dials, buttons and wheels on your camera<br />
do and understand how exposure and composition work you can<br />
start to take photographs that you are happy with. Through a stepby-step<br />
lecture followed by a power point presentation showing<br />
numerous images including portraits, nature, travel and family<br />
scenes you will learn how to turn any subject in front of you into a<br />
good photograph.<br />
Fundamentals of Digital Photography<br />

This class is designed for digital beginners or those making the<br />
switch from film cameras to digital. Both novice and somewhat<br />
experienced digital camera users are welcome to take part. This will<br />
be a lecture and discussion type class covering the basics of using<br />
digital cameras, as well as the basic fundamentals of photography<br />
(ISO, shutter speed, aperture, and the control of freezing/ blurring<br />
motion and depth of field). The class will also discuss digital terminology,<br />
camera types, appropriate digital formats, file sizes, menus,<br />
memory cards, exposure controls, white balance (color balance),<br />
transferring pictures to the computer, and some common data/<br />
picture file back-up procedures. There will be occasional shooting<br />
assignments for outside of class time to reinforce and demonstrate<br />
principles discussed in class. This class will be followed up by a<br />
practical shooting assignment type class to both work on what students<br />
have just learned and to work on the basics of composition<br />
and approaches to making photographs.
