saturday February 19
At the Community Centre - 1301 Rue du bois
For children 4 to 12 years old
In French only • At 1:30 p.m.
Presented for the first time at Québec City’s New France
Festival in August 1999, MariMusette features music, stories
and puppets from that era. In the mid-18th century, Jean
Sébastien Natte and his wife Marie-Louise Fluette, knicknamed
le père et la mère Marseille (old Mr. and Mrs. Marseille) set
up their theatre in New France. They were musicians, story
tellers and puppeteers. Recreating the Petit théâtre du père
et de la mère Marseille and using period instruments and
puppets, two artists make the folk music, songs and stories of
the first settlers who left France for America, come to life.
10 December
Philippe Gélinas is a musician specialized in
early music who has toured America and
Europe. In 1989, he founded the Atelier du
conte en musique et en images, an artistic
organization dedicated to children and
families of which he is the artistic director.
Working closely with Philippe Gélinas since
1993, educationalist Lise Dyke is a visual arts
specialist and stage designer. Along with
Philippe Gélinas, she designs and builds the
sets and the puppets for six of the Atelier’s
production and is a puppeteer in four of
them.
Reiki is an alternative medical practice. It is a natural
depending on our level of commitment, we can share it with
others. In Japanese, Reiki means energy and unconditional
love. Through Reiki, we become connected to a superior
energy: God (for those who believe), creator, supreme being,
universe, cosmos, source. Reiki is administered through hand
placements over the subject’s clothing. It brings harmony to
the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being.
What is Acrobatic Gymnastics?
Acrobatics - Dance - Tumbling - Trampoline
This discipline requires courage and stamina, while demanding
flexibility and skill. Acrobatic Gymnastics or Acrosport, favours body
control in various positions, both on the ground and in the air. For
this reason the sport is welcomed and often included in the training
program of pilots, cosmonauts and parachutists. The exercises are
performed as a team of 2, 3, 4 and must include a combination of
choreography, collective acrobatic elements such as holds, throws,
catches as well as individual acrobatic elements performed on the
floor, all in perfect synchronisation. Very entertaining to watch, this
sport is being made especially popular by a well known Montreal
circus company!
Who is Les Gymnastes de L’Ile?
Les Gymnastes de L'Ile offers all of the above and more! Our club
is a dynamic, educational, social and a sports orientated non-profit
association. We thrive on teamwork, self-confidence, trust and
respect.
Our club is affiliated to the Quebec Gymnastics Federation, competing
in tumbling, mini-double trampoline, and Olympic trampoline. 2010
has been a remarkable year with many medals collected at regional,
provincial, and national competitions.!
Our Coaches are world-class Acrobatics experts. Our Athletes have
competed alongside the best in the world. Our Motto remains
safety, fun and continuous improvement! Come join our team,
develop your potential and be part of something special!
LES FORESTIERS
Organisation
EQUESTRIAN CLUB
We wish to take the opportunity provided by the Liaisons, Saint-Lazare’s municipal bulletin, to thank the Town for opening trail
no. 60, a public trail that goes from Chemin Sainte-Angélique to Montée Saint-Robert.
Its equestrian heritage lends the Town of Saint-Lazare its unique charm. No other town in North America has such a large
and diversified equestrian community, with many small horse farms, which represents a major economic engine.
According to the RCM’s urban development plan reviewed in 2004, there are about 5,000 horses in our area. This represents
economic repercussions of approximately 30 million dollars and 850 permanent jobs.
LES FORESTIERS EQUESTRIAN CLUB is the most important equestrian club in Quebec. Its members are mainly Saint-Lazare residents
(approximately 60%). In addition to stable owners, there are numerous riders who board their horses in Saint-Lazare; most
of them live in the area but others come from Ontario, Montreal and places in between and even as far as the South Shore. Their
love for horses brings a great many riders to Saint-Lazare.
LES FORESTIERS EQUESTRIAN CLUB offers day passes to riders from all over Quebec who are attracted to our area’s
wonderful trails. Located for the most part in Saint-Lazare, our trails cover approximately 250 km. We owe these great trails
to the Town of Saint-Lazare and to the many land owners who have granted us an exclusive right-of-way. The various trails
enable us to reach La Pinière, the main recreational park, from the north, south, east and west.
LES FORESTIERS EQUESTRIAN CLUB has a one-of-a-kind equestrian patrol to keep trails safe for riders as well as a group of
volunteers responsible for maintaining the trails.
For additional information, please contact LES FORESTIERS EQUESTRIAN CLUB at 514-446-3312.
