Sally Scott is Resource Bank’s unoffi cial
new-branch hostess. She has helped
open fi ve of Resource’s seven branches
over a period of thirty years. In that
time she has seen the bank go through a
name change and a brief period when its
headquarters were temporarily housed in
a trailer, during the construction of the
fi rst Bethany building.
Sally is currently on duty at the new
Malta branch, doing what she does best—
making sure Resource clients are greeted
with a smile and ensuring that Resource
remains the place “where banking is a
pleasure.”
“We were First National Bank of Malta
for many years,” Sally recalls. “We
changed our name to Resource Bank in
January of 1988 because we wanted to
communicate that we were a resource
for the community and that we were
resourceful. That’s how the new name
came about.
“We’re proud of all our branch buildings
throughout the county. In designing
and constructing these branches, we’ve
always tried to remember that these
structures are about more than just us.
They are fi rst and foremost about the
communities we serve, and our goal has
always been to enhance the character of
those communities through our choices.
The Malta branch is very different from
our other buildings, but I think it fi ts
perfectly with a rural community.”
