LIVING IN MAPUTO MAPUTO EVENTS| 21 NOVEMBER 2012 TO SUBSCRIBE OR UNSUBSCRIBE CLICK HERE © Kjartan Valgardsson OUT OF TOWN Bitonga Divers organise their second annual music festival in Inhambane By Tim Dykman Final preparations are underway for Bitonga Divers’ second annual music festival to take place on 1 December 2012 at the Barbalaza football field in Inhambane. This year the festival welcomes special guests Likute featuring lead singer Chude Mondlane, daughter of Mozambican revolutionary hero Eduardo Mondlane. Bitonga Divers and Ocean Revolution have been credited with creating a “Blue Revolution” in Mozambique by breaking open employment in the lucrative dive tourism industry to Mozambicans, supporting Mozambican graduate students in Marine Sciences at Eduardo Mondlane University and building a conservation movement in local communities. Bitonga Divers has served notice that the beautiful belgian beer reviews by patrick devos “DUVEL” by Moortgat Brewery Belgium B ack in 1871, the first generation of the Moortgat family was already producing beer with their exacting craftsmanship, unfailing patience and above all, lots of love. Duvel is a 100% pure and natural beer, with no additives or preservatives, and you can taste the difference immediately. Its surprisingly high alcohol content (8.5%), huge, creamy head, delicate effervescence and silky smooth aroma is what distinguishes Duvel from other Belgian beers. With its subtly bitter bite and delicate aroma, Duvel holds a unique position within the rich Belgian beer tradition. After bottling, the beer continues to ferment for a fortnight in the warm cellars of the brewery. Finally, the beer is chilled for 6 weeks in the cold cellars. This extra-long maturing process is unique and contributes to the exquisite flavour and pure aroma of Duvel. Belgian beers may cost a bit more that the average lager on the local market, but their superior quality makes them well worth the money. Places to enjoy Belgian beers: Centro Cultural Franco Mocambicano (Chimay and Leffe) Katembe Gallery Hotel (Chimay, Duvel, Leffe and Hoegaarden) Café Sol (all available) Sun Splash Waterpark (Leffe) Kapfumo at CFM (Hoegarden) Bar 1908 (Hoegarden and Leffe) Cafe das Acacias (Chimay and Duvel) Southern Sun (Leffe) Aska Sushi (Hoegarden) Dolce Vita and ICE (Duvel) Massala Bar (Duvel) Places where to buy: Delicious at Polana Shopping Center (ground floor), 9 Gourmet at JAT, Heroes of the Beer in Matola, Talho Polana and Vossa Garrafeira.
