MPSC Activities<br />
�� Issue an order designating the area of the state likely to<br />
be most productive as the primary wind energy resource<br />
zone (additional zones may also be designated)<br />
�� Evaluate the projected costs and benefits in terms of the<br />
long-term long term production capacity and long-term long term needs for<br />
transmission<br />
�� Ensure that the designation of a wind zone does not<br />
represent an unreasonable threat to the public<br />
convenience, health, and safety and that any adverse<br />
impacts on private property values are minimal<br />
�� Expedited transmission siting process (180 days)<br />
�� Annual reporting to the governor and legislature
