Make plans now because this may be the last Oktoberfest within a<br />

resonable drive for some time. Oktoberfest is the Annual National<br />

gathering <strong>of</strong> BMWs and this year the theme is the 20th Anniversary <strong>of</strong> the<br />

founding <strong>of</strong> BMW Motorsports subsidiary. There are plans to have many<br />

historic <strong>car</strong>s from Germany shipped o\/er for the event. The drivers'<br />

school will be held at the Sebring course that is used for the famous 12hour<br />

race. Ted Kennedy will be leading a late-night tour to Au Bar. Make<br />

your vacation plans now.<br />

BOARD M€€TING: Minutes<br />

Wednesday, 11 December, 1991<br />

PRESENT: John Kenworthy, President-Elect, Jonathan Jones, Vice<br />

President, Mike Early, Editor, Jennifer Nazarko, Treasurer, Sarah<br />

Kenworthy, Secretary-Elect, Woody Hair, Club Council, Dick Bergen,<br />

Membership Chairman, David Roach, Drivers' School Coordinator, Kevin<br />

Cowley, Advertising Manager, Paul Vessels and Ed Nazarko.<br />

TOPICS OF DISCUSSION:<br />

1. The Calendar <strong>of</strong> Events was discussed and all present agreed that<br />

upcoming event planning was on schedule. Reports were given on the<br />

events that are forthcoming in the near future. Woody Hair will be<br />

mapping and planning the winter tour to Winchester soon and will report<br />

back on progress. John Kenworthy reported that he would need several<br />

volunteers for the Swap Meet to be held at Electrodyne in May. Details<br />

are forthcoming on vendors, advertising, etc... Kevin Cowley stated that<br />

the Zymol tech session is in or<strong>der</strong> for Saturday, 25 January 1992.<br />

2. David Roach gave a brief update on the coming year's driving school<br />

dates. Dave suggested a meeting with Chief Instructor Bob Gammache<br />

and others involved with school operations to discuss issues pertaining<br />

to track events. Expenses for the 1992 schools will increase for various<br />

reasons including increased track rental fees.<br />

3. Der <strong>Bayerische</strong> advertising rates were discussed at length. The board<br />

agreed to continue the discussion at a later meeting.<br />

Jennifer Nazarko stated that the newsletter is slightly un<strong>der</strong> budget due in<br />

part to paid advertisers' subscriptions and the host <strong>of</strong> new advertisers<br />

that Kevin Cowley has been able to enlist on the <strong>club</strong>'s behalf.<br />

4. Jennifer presented a brief synopsis <strong>of</strong> the year end budget totals. All<br />

agreed that this has been a good year.<br />

5. A late election Ballot was received from Tamara Hull, (President, Golden<br />

Gate Chapter).<br />

6. The Executive Board will hold its 1992 Budget Meeting on Saturday, 28<br />

December, 1991 in the home <strong>of</strong> Jennifer and Ed Nazarko. Dinner will<br />

follow.<br />

7. The board agreed that we should plan as far ahead as possible. The<br />

Calendar will be published for the year to allow members to plan to<br />

attend the events and to try and compensate for the delays caused by<br />

using bulk rate postage for the <strong>der</strong> <strong>Bayerische</strong> delivery.<br />

8. The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be held on Wednesday,<br />

8 January 1992 at the home <strong>of</strong> John and Sarah Kenworthy.<br />

9. Mike Early asked that we discuss at our next regular meeting the "Dealer<br />

or Parts person <strong>of</strong> the month" for upcoming issues <strong>of</strong> the dB.<br />
