CONQUEST OF MAKKA<br />
"When <strong>the</strong>re comes <strong>the</strong> help of Allah and <strong>the</strong> victory; And you see men entering <strong>the</strong><br />
religion of Allah in groups. So, glorify your Lord and seek His forgiveness. Indeed He<br />
accepts Tawba.<br />
Suratun Nasr 110:2-4<br />
One of <strong>the</strong> conditions of <strong>the</strong> treaty of Hudaibiya was that <strong>the</strong>re would be no fighting<br />
between <strong>the</strong> Muslims and <strong>the</strong> Quraysh and <strong>the</strong>ir respective allies. <strong>the</strong> allies of <strong>the</strong> Quraysh<br />
broke <strong>the</strong>ir agreement by attacking an ally of <strong>the</strong> Muslims.<br />
The <strong>Prophet</strong> marched with 10'000 men and camped a short way away from Makka. He<br />
entered Makka on Friday, 20th Ramadhan 8 A.H. almost unopposed. He broke all <strong>the</strong> idols<br />
in <strong>the</strong> Ka'ba and <strong>the</strong>n ordered Bilal to give adhan.<br />
"Truth has come and falsehood has vanished; and falsehood is certainly a thing vanishing..<br />
Suratu Bani Israil 17:81<br />
He <strong>the</strong>n gave a sermon after which he declared :<br />
"I shall speak to you as Yusuf spoke to his bro<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />
There is no reproach against you today, God will forgive. He is <strong>the</strong> most merciful and<br />
compassionate".<br />
Suratu Yusuf 12:92<br />
Makka was conquered with no house destroyed and none hurt. With Imam Ali (AS) on <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>Prophet</strong>’s shoulders, <strong>the</strong> Ka’ba was cleaned of all <strong>the</strong> idols that were housed init.<br />
The result of this action saw many enter<br />
<strong>the</strong> religion and Surah An-Nasr was<br />
revealed. Messengers were <strong>the</strong>n sent to<br />
<strong>the</strong> neighbouring tribes calling <strong>the</strong>m with<br />
peace and goodwill to Islam.<br />
"(O <strong>Muhammad</strong>) Allah who has<br />
commanded you to follow <strong>the</strong> guidance<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Qur'an will certainly return you<br />
victoriously to your place of birth....."<br />
