Opening hours
During term:
Mo 10am–8pm, Tue to Fri 10am–7pm, Sa 10am–3pm
Out of term:
Mo and Wed 10am–5.30pm Tue and Thur 11am–7pm
The library is at the disposal of all students. All students must, however, apply for a library users’ ID with
their student ID.
Computer Centre
Rooms: 151, 152, 233 (in the library)
The opening hours of the computer rooms are displayed on the notice boards outside the rooms. The
computers can be used by all students, and there is a student tutor who will help students to apply for
E-mail addresses.
Student Cafeteria
On the 5th floor of the FHW Berlin, Faculty of Business and Economics there is a student cafeteria operated
not by the FHW Berlin, but by the Studentenwerk. The student ID allows students to eat in all
student cafeterias throughout the city of Berlin at special student rates.
Sports
A wide variety of different kinds of sport is organised by the universities and is available for all students.
Werner Kawald, Director of the Studienverwaltung (Study Programme Administration), in room 4 is
the person to contact. A programme containing the different sports offered at the universities is available
in the porter’s lodge or on display in the FHW Berlin.
Student Representation (AStA)
The StuPa (Student Parliament), which is elected by all students at the FHW Berlin, elects the AStA,
which represents the interests of all students, e.g. with regard to the university administration. In addition
to finance, social affairs, women and public relations department, there is also an office which represents
the interests of foreign students. Currently this post is held by Ms. Zuzana Holbickova.
The opening hours of the AStA are displayed on the public notice board outside room 121/123.
