Norfolk Operations Center construction on schedule
Relatively good weather has enabled
construction of the Norfolk Operations Center
to proceed on schedule. Pictured above, steel
frames the general outline of the NOC’s
administration building. At right is another shot
of the construction site.
Next generation wind
monitoring technology
demonstrated
Second Wind Inc., the manufacturer of mobile
wind devices, made a stop at the Columbus
General Office to demonstrate a next generation
and very unique mobile wind monitoring device
called the “Triton.” Employees were invited
to attend the demonstration or link in through
LiveMeeting. Those who did heard about the
wide array of applications for which Triton can
be used.
Earlier this month, the United States
Department of Agriculture approved a $100,000
grant to be used by NPPD to obtain the Triton
units.
Renewable Energy Development Project
Manager John O’Connor coordinated the
demonstration.
