of events N O V E M B E R 11 Veterans Day Holiday 12-13 NPPD Board Meeting Columbus 20 Customer Meeting Location to be determined 26-27 Thanksgiving Holiday Retired GGS Plant Support Technician Joyce Blake, 70, who passed away June 9. Joyce joined the District in 1979 and retired in 2000. Survivors include her husband, Dareld; sons, Rick, Randy and Brad; seven grandchildren, a sister and three brothers. Retired O’Neill Engineering Technician George Lang, 83, who passed away June 16. George began his NPPD career in 1947 and retired in 1995. Survivors include his wife, Orma; daughter, Brenda Jones; two grandchildren, one brother and two sisters. Retired Clay Center Journey Line Technician Wayne Mattison, 75, who passed away July 17. Wayne joined the District in 1969 and retired in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; sons, Dale, Michael, Alan and Richard; daughter, Darla Rand; and seven grandchildren. Retired YOC Journey Line Technician Adolf (J.R.) Kulhanek, 65, who passed away Aug. 6. J.R. joined NPPD in 1967 and retired in 1999. Retired CNS Electrician Jack Reeves, 70, who passed away Aug. 8. Jack began his NPPD career in 1984 and retired in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Kay; sons, Scott and J.R.; daughter, Nita Pohlmann; four grandchildren, a sister and a brother. Retired Sheldon Station Chief Draftsman Richard “Dick” Buechel, 87, who passed away Aug. 12. Dick joined the District in 1945 and retired in 1984. Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughters, Kathleen Carmichael and Barbara Wiggins; sons, Don, John, Larry, Gerald and Thomas; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. CNS Mechanic Clinton Reeves, 63, who passed away Aug. 20, following a lengthy illness. Clinton joined the District in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Chad and Chris; five grandchildren, three sisters and a brother. 23
