Amber Lights<br />

Amber lights may be used on police vehicles, fi re department<br />

emergency response vehicles, school buses, vehicles used in road<br />

construction or repair, mail delivery vehicles, pilot vehicles, commercial<br />

vehicles, public utility vehicles, worker transportation buses, and church<br />

buses as a pre-warning <strong>of</strong> a stop ahead.<br />

Tow vehicles connecting to or servicing a disabled vehicle may use<br />

either red or amber warning lights.<br />

Blue Lights<br />

Blue lights, steady or fl ashing, are permitted only on police vehicles or<br />

fi re department emergency response vehicles.<br />

Green Lights<br />

Fire vehicles operating as the command post in emergency incidents<br />

may use a fl ashing or revolving green light. Green lights may be used on<br />

the rear-mounted tricolor lighting system.<br />

Check Before You Buy<br />

Some aftermarket (custom) accessories and lighting equipment may not<br />

be legal in <strong>Oregon</strong>. Be sure to check equipment for markings showing<br />

the equipment is legal. If the aftermarket accessory or equipment has the<br />

following marking or information on the product, they are most likely not<br />

legal for street use in <strong>Oregon</strong>:<br />

• For Off-Road Use Only.<br />

• For Show Use Only.<br />

• Check local laws and ordinances for use.<br />

• DOT or SAE Certifi ed (neither DOT nor SAE certify products;<br />

however, manufacturers can certify that their products meet these<br />

federal standards).<br />
