This course provides a broad knowledge base in key<br />

<strong>business</strong> areas such as <strong>management</strong>, budgeting,<br />

communications <strong>and</strong> <strong>marketing</strong> in the Events<br />

industry. You will develop competency in event<br />

industry software, Summit Event Management Pro,<br />

<strong>and</strong> get practical <strong>events</strong> experience as part of the<br />

course. With the ability to manage <strong>events</strong> projects<br />

<strong>and</strong> provide on-site event <strong>and</strong> venue <strong>management</strong><br />

services, Martin College graduates will be prepared<br />

to start their Events career.<br />

Event <strong>management</strong> skills are in dem<strong>and</strong> in the<br />

private <strong>and</strong> public sectors, <strong>and</strong> in community<br />

organisations such as sports clubs, schools <strong>and</strong><br />

charitable organisations. Event Managers must<br />

be able to manage a venue for their event to<br />

ensure a successful activity.<br />

Possible job titles relevant to this qualification<br />

include Event Administrator, Events <strong>and</strong> Marketing<br />

Coordinator, Event Planning Assistant <strong>and</strong><br />

Conference Coordinator.<br />

Inclusion of the Responsible Service of Alcohol<br />

award within the Diploma of Venues <strong>and</strong> Events<br />

may assist you to secure casual employment in<br />

a restaurant or bar setting whilst you are studying.<br />
