Illustration department chair steven<br />

guarnaccia is a f<strong>re</strong>quent contributor to<br />

publications including Time, Rolling<br />

Stone, and BLAB! and was p<strong>re</strong>viously art<br />

di<strong>re</strong>ctor <strong>of</strong> the <strong>New</strong> York Times op-ed<br />

page. Co-author <strong>of</strong> Black and White and<br />

author/illustrator <strong>of</strong> numerous child<strong>re</strong>n’s<br />

books, Guarnaccia hosted the<br />

hugely successful Illustration Today<br />

symposium at Parsons in November.<br />

karissa k<strong>re</strong>nz is a <strong>New</strong> York–based<br />

arts and entertainment writer and former<br />

Editor-in-Chief <strong>of</strong> Chamber Music<br />

magazine. Her writing appears f<strong>re</strong>quently<br />

in publications including Time<br />

Out <strong>New</strong> York and Playbill. She also<br />

<strong>design</strong>s and fabricates one-<strong>of</strong>-a-kind<br />

and limited-edition jewelry sculpted<br />

from found objects and wi<strong>re</strong>.<br />

paula giraldo, Graphic Design ’05<br />

(AAS), studied photography and graphic<br />

<strong>design</strong> in her native Colombia befo<strong>re</strong><br />

moving to <strong>New</strong> York to attend Parsons.<br />

She is cur<strong>re</strong>ntly on staff at <strong>The</strong> <strong>New</strong><br />

<strong>School</strong> as a graphic <strong>design</strong>er.<br />

david j. lewis is associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />

and di<strong>re</strong>ctor <strong>of</strong> the master <strong>of</strong> architectu<strong>re</strong><br />

program. He <strong>re</strong>ceived his BA from<br />

Carleton College, holds an MA in History<br />

<strong>of</strong> Architectu<strong>re</strong> and Urbanism from<br />

Cornell, and an MArch from Princeton.<br />

Lewis is partner in the <strong>New</strong> York–based<br />

architectu<strong>re</strong> firm Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis.<br />

matthew sussman is a photographer,<br />

di<strong>re</strong>ctor, and producer whose work has<br />

ranged from international documentary<br />

television to makeover <strong>re</strong>ality shows. He<br />

is cur<strong>re</strong>ntly on staff at <strong>The</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>School</strong><br />

as special project producer.<br />

lisa zeiger (not pictu<strong>re</strong>d) was decorative<br />

arts editor for the quarterly <strong>interior</strong>s<br />

publication nest and a f<strong>re</strong>elance arts<br />

writer in Glasgow, London, and<br />

Cologne. She studied decorative arts at<br />

Sotheby’s London and the University <strong>of</strong><br />

Glasgow and holds deg<strong>re</strong>es from<br />

Barnard and Columbia Law <strong>School</strong>.<br />

Zeiger is at work on her first book,<br />

Blanquita: A Memoir <strong>of</strong> the Bronx.<br />
