FOR FALL SEMESTER<br />
December 8th. Priority deadline for admission and award to PhD programs for <strong>the</strong> fall semester.<br />
January 31st. Priority deadline for admission to master’s programs for <strong>the</strong> fall semester.<br />
Applications submitted by <strong>the</strong>se dates are guaranteed a review by <strong>the</strong> departmental admissions committees.<br />
Applications submitted after <strong>the</strong>se dates are not guaranteed consideration but will be considered for admission if all<br />
spaces have not been filled, and for financial aid, if funds are still available. All PhD students seeking fall admission<br />
should meet <strong>the</strong> December 8th deadline, since it is likely that enrollment in many departments will be filled soon after<br />
this date.<br />
SPRING SEMESTER<br />
October 15. Final date for completion <strong>of</strong> applications for spring semester admission, space permitting. Very few<br />
departments accept new students for <strong>the</strong> spring semester, and financial aid is not readily available for spring<br />
matriculants.<br />
SUMMER SESSION<br />
Students seeking admission to <strong>the</strong> Graduate School for study in <strong>the</strong> summer session should apply for Graduate<br />
School admission according to <strong>the</strong> fall deadline schedule. There are two summer sessions, typically running from<br />
mid-May to late June, and early July to mid-August. With <strong>the</strong> exception <strong>of</strong> applicants to <strong>the</strong> Master <strong>of</strong> Arts in<br />
Teaching program, applicants seeking to apply for admission during a summer session must obtain special permission<br />
from <strong>the</strong>ir department <strong>of</strong> interest.<br />
