· Issue – When using a McAfee Agent Embedded credential package, the agent failed to install when VirusScan
Enterprise 8.7 Patch 5 or VirusScan 8.8 Patch 1 was running on the system. (Reference: 733433)
Resolution – The McAfee Agent can install using an embedded credential package when VirusScan Enterprise 8.7 Patch 5
or VirusScan 8.8 Patch 1 is installed on the system.
· Issue – When the McAfee Agent update task schedule was configured with both randomization and Run missed tasks,
randomization did not occur on Windows Clients. (Reference: 741198)
Resolution – The McAfee Agent update task randomization now occurs when both randomization and Run missed tasks
are configured for Windows clients.
· Issue – The McAfee Agent installation failed when the system environmental variable "R_RSHLIB_LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
was defined and pointed to an incompatible encryption library. (Reference: 757700)
Resolution – The McAfee Agent installation succeeds because installer uses appropriate Windows API to add environment
variable.
· Issue – The DAT file installation was slowed by copying and deleting of DAT files used by the DAT installation scripts.
(Reference: 740407)
Resolution – McAfee Agent added support to provide future DAT file installation scripts the ability to rename files during
installation rather than copying the files to the new location and deleting the files from the old location.
· Issue – The McAfee Agent Windows clients attempted to execute Agent-to-Server Communication, updates and
deployments irrespective of the network state (For example network not reachable, network interface cards are not active
or not connected to network). (Reference: 756006)
Resolution – The McAfee Agent Windows clients do not attempt to execute Agent-to-Server Communication, updates
and deployments when there is not a reachable network (network not reachable, Network interface cards are not active or
not connected to network).
· Issue – The default McAfee Agent Policy Enforcement and Agent-to-Server Communication interval (ASCI) values were
not realistic for corporate environments.(Reference: 756014)
Resolution – When the McAfee Agent extension is installed (not upgraded):
- The default Policy Enforcement interval is now 60 minute for both My Default and Large Organization Policy.
- The default ASCI is 60 minutes for the My Default policy and 180 minutes for the Large Organization policy. The
changes are made to McAfee Agent Extension.
Important: The new default values are NOT applied upon a McAfee Agent Extension upgrade. The new default values are
only applied when McAfee Agent Extension 4.6 Patch 2 is newly installed.
· Issue – The client tasks configured to run At Logon were executed immediately when received by the client system.
(Reference: 769877)
Resolution – The client tasks configured to run At Logon are triggered only when user logs onto the client system.
