U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla<br />

78 has a 13-week continuous Safe<br />

Boating program every Tuesday,<br />

7 p.m., Warren Webster Community<br />

Center, 1500 Pass-a-Grille Way,<br />

St. Pete Beach (1 mile south of Don<br />

CeSar) Start at your convenience.<br />

First day, come at 6:30 p.m. to<br />

register. Begin any Tuesday and<br />

finish 13 weeks later or take up to<br />

two years to finish.<br />

<strong>March</strong>’s program includes: and<br />

“Handling Your Boat” <strong>March</strong> 27.<br />

April’s program includes: “Your<br />

Highway Signs” Apr 03, “Rules of<br />

the Nautical Road” Apr 10, “Boating<br />

Safety” Apr 17, and “Piloting Your<br />

Boat – Part A” Apr 24.<br />

Cost is $40 for 13 weeks and includes<br />

EarthFest <strong>2012</strong><br />

Parade Workshops<br />

First Florida Frontiers and Earth<br />

Scouts of St Petersburg are hosting a<br />

series of community workshops every<br />

Sunday from <strong>March</strong> 25th through<br />

April 1, 8, 15 from noon-2 p.m. at<br />

the City of Imagination Gulfport<br />

Art Center, 2726 54th Street S.,<br />

Gulfport. Come help them make<br />

puppets, masks, signs, banners,<br />

flags, and costumes for the “Water”<br />

Walking Parade to be held during<br />

EarthFest <strong>2012</strong> on Saturday, April<br />

21st in Gulfport. <strong>The</strong> series costs<br />

just $5 per family and includes four<br />

2-hour workshops. Children must be<br />

accompanied by an adult. <strong>The</strong>y can<br />

take their artwork home with them<br />

after the parade. Kids learn to reuse,<br />

reduce, recycle and rethink!<br />

<strong>The</strong>y need donations of remnants,<br />

trims, art papers, paint, brushes,<br />

beads, glitter, paper and fabric glue,<br />

fabric pens, artificial flowers, bamboo<br />

poles, plastic containers, or anything<br />

that can be recycled for the parade.<br />

for those who Qualify<br />

AARP will be offering free tax<br />

preparation and assistance at the<br />

Gulfport Public Library at 5501 28th<br />

Avenue S. on Mondays and Fridays<br />

from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through April<br />

13th.<br />

This service is offered for households<br />

with low to moderate incomes, for<br />

taxpayers of all ages, but with an<br />

emphasis on those over 60 years of<br />

age. Taxpayers must bring social<br />

security cards for all persons listed on<br />

their tax returns, a picture I.D., and<br />

all pertinent records such as W2’s,<br />

1099’s, other income and credits and<br />

a copy of last year’s return. Free<br />

electronic filing is available. To locate<br />
