Players Call for<br />
One Act Plays<br />
<strong>The</strong> Gulfport Community Players<br />
are once again in need of short one<br />
act plays for their Summer One Act<br />
Play Festival in July. Authors should<br />
submit three hard copies of their plays,<br />
along with a separate cover sheet<br />
with their name, address, telephone<br />
number, and email address. Sorry, no<br />
plays can be returned.<br />
All plays should be 15 to 20 minutes<br />
in length maximum, easy to stage,<br />
with a minimal set, family oriented,<br />
with no vulgar language or situations.<br />
Deadline for entries is <strong>March</strong> 31st. If<br />
your play is picked, it will run in the<br />
Players’ Summer One Act Festival at<br />
the Hickman <strong>The</strong>ater from July 12th<br />
through <strong>22</strong>nd. Submit your plays to:<br />

Leader and Master Trainer with the<br />
World Laughter Tour and creator<br />

and Kayak Clinic<br />
Judy Ryerson Memorial<br />
<strong>The</strong> Gulfport Community Players and the family<br />
of the late Judy Ryerson will be holding a memorial<br />
for Judy on Saturday, <strong>March</strong> 31st at the Players'<br />
Back Door <strong>The</strong>ater. This theater is located at<br />
1619 49th Street S. in Gulfport. <strong>The</strong> doors will<br />
open at 1:30 p.m. and the memorial itself will<br />
begin at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served after<br />
the memorial. <strong>The</strong>re is a map showing just how<br />

All friends of Judy's (and there are many) are invited to attend this memorial.<br />
Judy was one of the original founders of the Gulfport Community Players some<br />
32 years ago and will be missed by the them, as well as by the entire City of<br />
Gulfport. She was very active in just about every civic event in Gulfport for<br />
many years and even served on the City Council.<br />
Join the Players and the many others that have known and worked with<br />
Judy for, what seems like, forever here in Gulfport. Judy's family suggests<br />
that instead of sending flowers, a donation be made to either the Gulfport<br />
Community Players, the Gulfport Historical Society or Suncoast Hospice.<br />
ST. PETERSBURG- <strong>The</strong><br />
St. Petersburg <strong>The</strong>rapeutic Recreation<br />
program and St. Petersburg Sailing<br />
Center partner to offer an Adapted<br />
Sailing and Kayak Clinic for people<br />
with disabilities. <strong>The</strong> event is on<br />
Saturday, <strong>March</strong> 31, from 10 a.m.<br />
to 2 p.m. at the Sailing Center, 250<br />
Second Avenue S.E. No experience is<br />
necessary. Participants will be given<br />
basic instruction and will have the<br />
opportunity to get out on the water<br />
with an instructor. Family members,<br />
friends, and companions are welcome<br />
to join. Free program. MUST call<br />
