PCCA is currently accepting late<br />

applications for the <strong>2012</strong>/2013 school<br />

year. Pinellas County Center for<br />

the Arts (PCCA) on the campus of<br />

Gibbs High School offers students a<br />

concentrated study in a specific art<br />

field while fulfilling all the academic<br />

requirements for graduation.<br />

Designed as a four-year course of<br />

study, each arts area has structured<br />

its course offerings into lower<br />

level and upper level classes. As<br />

a college preparatory program, a<br />

comprehensive plan during upper<br />

level study is implemented to secure<br />

scholarships for higher education<br />

as an integral part of the PCCA<br />

experience.<br />

Adult Hula Dance Class<br />

Learn to dance the Hawaiian Hula<br />

at the Gulfport Recreation Center,<br />

5730 Shore Blvd. So. on Wednesdays<br />

from 11 a.m. to noon. Cost is $10 per<br />

individual class. <strong>The</strong> instructor will<br />

be Kalina, who has studied hula for<br />

over 30 years. She will share her<br />

dance knowledge, stories and protocol.<br />

exercise, great for strengthening bad<br />

Mainsail Arts Festival<br />

Seeks Volunteers<br />

ST. PETERSBURG- Mainsail Arts<br />

Festival will celebrate its 37th<br />

anniversary on April 21 and <strong>22</strong>. This<br />

prestigious art festival is one of the<br />

most exciting outdoor arts events in<br />

Florida, attracting 250 artists from<br />

across the country. Once again, the<br />

event will be held in beautiful Vinoy<br />

Park on St. Petersburg’s downtown<br />

waterfront (Bayshore Drive at 7th<br />

Ave. NE).<br />

More than 250 volunteers are needed<br />

to staff several booths on Saturday,<br />

April 21 and Sunday, April <strong>22</strong>.<br />

Volunteer areas include: soft drink/<br />

water booths, beer/wine trucks (must<br />

be 21 years and older, limited to one<br />

shift per day), promotions/t-shirt<br />

sales and hospitality.<br />

In an effort to make the sign-up<br />

process more efficient, volunteers are<br />

asked to use our online Volunteer<br />

Registration Form to select a location,<br />

day and time that has openings<br />

available. To register to volunteer<br />

org and click Volunteers on the left<br />

side of the page. A brief summary<br />

of the volunteer opportunities will<br />
