Adults primarily receive their education in a Sunday<br />
school class or perhaps in a home fellowship.<br />
Unfortunately, there has not been sufficient emphasis on<br />
teaching that leads to clear biblical understanding. In fact,<br />
some have said that the church in America is biblically<br />
illiterate. The need for more effective programs for local<br />
church training is evident.<br />
One cannot rely on Sunday morning or Sunday<br />
evening services alone to instruct people towards maturity.<br />
All adults should be fully trained and equipped to do their<br />
part in the Kingdom of God, and this requires time.<br />
This is especially true in light of God’s mandate to<br />
bring His people to maturity, to fully disciple whole nations<br />
or ethnic groups. To do this, systematic training programs<br />
across the entire spectrum of church endeavors are needed.<br />
In response to this acute need, many churches have<br />
established complete Bible <strong>College</strong> programs or Training<br />
Institutes within their local assembly.<br />
There are many excellent ministries that can assist<br />
local churches to develop a comprehensive adult education<br />
program. Many are highly effective in releasing people into<br />
the areas of their unique gifting and calling. What should<br />
the components of a good adult education program include?<br />
A Place<br />
As stated earlier, the local church facility is the most<br />
underutilized building in most communities. However, a<br />
limited venue need not limit your ability to train. We have<br />
seen Bible training in houses, rented facilities, local<br />
churches, and even in the open air. However, the local<br />
