14. Game Officials Shirts In case of a colour clash between game officials and participating teams shirts, the game officials shall change their shirts. 15. Participating Players All players must provide a competitive registration book/card at time of registration. recreational players on trial basis with the participating team must obtain a “trial player” book from their association (this book is the same as any other competitive player’s book, except it will note that the participating player is with the team on trial basis). 16. Application To Travel All participating teams not registered through <strong>Niagara</strong> Soccer Association must produce an Application To Travel Form signed by their District Association. 17. Liability Insurance Proof of Medical and Personal Liability Insurance for all players and coaching staff is required at time of team registration (teams from outside Ontario only). WEST NIAGARA TOURNAMENT RULES FOR MINI-SOCCER 1. Laws All games will be played in accordance with the F.I.F.A. Laws of the Game as observed by the Ontario Soccer Association. exceptions for mini- soccer are noted herein. 2. Home Team Responsibilities the first team listed on the schedule is the home team. the home team will supply the game ball. If, at referee’s discretion, the home team can’t supply a suitable game ball, the away team will have the option of providing one. Where playing colours clash (at referee’s discretion), the home team will change to distinct colours. 3. Game Sheets both teams shall complete their game sheet and hand it back to the referee prior to kickoff. each sheet must be completed in full. Only the team officials that have signed the game sheet are allowed to assist the coach. 4. Number of Players A team may register fourteen (14) players. the teams shall play 7-a-side. A minimum of five (5) players at scheduled kick-off time constitutes a team in all games. 5. Duration of Play Preliminary rounds – 2 x 20 minute halves, 5-minute halftime. tied games will not go to extra time. (the crossover elimination games on Saturday between 2nd and 3rd place teams will go directly to penalty kicks, if tied at the end of regulation time, to determine the winner).
Finals, Semi, Quarter – 2 x 20 minute halves, 5 minute halftime, and Penalty kicks in accordance with F.I.F.A. rules, if required. 6. Point System • 3 points will be awarded for a win • 1 point will be awarded for a tie 7. Substitutions unlimited substitution is permitted during a game, but may only be made at the following stoppages in play. • When a goal is scored • At a goal kick • At the beginning of the second half • At the beginning of the first or second half of extra time • For an injured player at the referee’s discretion • On any throw-in at the referee’s discretion 8. Determination of Division Leaders Division leaders will be determined by the following criteria: • Most points • Performance head-to-head (not applicable to ties of 3 or more teams) • Goal difference • Most goals for • Coin toss 9. Coaching Coaches must choose their side of the field prior to the start of the game and must remain within their side of the centerline. Coaching outside this area will not be permitted. Only team officials are permitted in this area. team officials are reminded that they are not allowed on the field of play without the referee’s permission. 10. Protests All protests must be in writing within one (1) hour of completion of the game in question and must be accompanied by a fee of $50, refundable if the protest is successful. Protests regarding referee’s decision will not be heard. 11. Failure to Show Any team failing to show for a scheduled game will result in dismissal from the tournament and the tournament fee will be forfeited. A result of 1:0 will be recorded in favour of the team who should have played the team failing to show. 12. Disciplinary Action A player receiving two yellow cards during the tournament will be suspended from the next game. A player receiving a red card will be suspended from the next game. A player receiving two red cards during the tournament will be suspended from the tournament. the referee’s jurisdiction regarding cautions and ejections shall be extended to cover all team officials who will be subject to the same disciplinary action as players. Coaches will be held responsible for the behaviour of all spectators in their party.
