TAKE CONTROL
OF YOUR LIFE
I have worked the last 20 years in the hospitality, restaurant and food
service industry wearing many hats — hostess, waitress, bartender,
manager and even caterer. I worked when they told me to, on nights,
weekends and holidays. I did not have any job security, retirement
plan or health benefits. So when I cut off the tip of my finger on my
right hand closing someone else’s restaurant late one night, I realized
it was time to take control of my life.
My Arbonne journey began in 2002, thanks to my incredible mother.
We knew from her long corporate career and my line of work that we
did not control our lives and prosperity — other people did. We were
so impressed after attending an overview of this product-driven company
and cutting-edge information and technology, that we registered
immediately and began living a pure, safe, beneficial lifestyle. Even
though I wanted to spread the good word about Prolief Natural
Balancing Cream, the timing was not right and I allowed my job to be
my excuse for not getting started.
In mid-2005 my friend, Glorianna Peale, called to advise me of a
“new approach” to doing the business — the Arbonne=REsults
Presentation. I listened intently over lunch and gladly carried out the
gold sample bag she gave me to try. I ran to the car to insert the CD I
promised I would play going home. When I heard its contents, I knew
right then and there that the universe was giving me the courage and
confidence to take control of my precious life. I then decided to share
the gift of Arbonne with others and help them achieve success and
happiness, too.
Things went slowly at first, since I was in physical therapy for two
months learning how to primarily use my left hand. Then, the hurricane
season of 2005 hit us hard and my telephone and computer were
inoperable. I attended every training and meeting I could get to and
dragged along as many friends as I could. I studied the network marketing
industry and read the motivational books recommended by my
upline. My indelible role models guided and trained me to follow the
system — work on myself and lead by example.
I attended NTC 2006 St. Louis with a special team member, Lauren
Arthur. We got so pumped up that when we got home after the conference,
we took on President Rita Davenport’s challenge, and worked
10 months later.
I have been blessed to be in one of our company’s greatest Nations —
that of my sponsor and friend, Susan Hutton. My thanks to her, my
crossline and Arbonne family is so huge that I cannot possibly thank
each one of you for all of your love, guidance and support.
