Choices that do not meet the organisations' requirements will be deleted by the computer programme. Subsequent choices will be shifted forward accordingly for the System Allocation. Organisations are also asked to indicate the types of attributes, knowledge or skills which the student should have in order to handle the project. Such requirements are stated as Project Pre-requisite. Though such Pre-Requisites are not used as criteria in the Verification of Choices or the System Allocation, students are advised to check and satisfy themselves that they possess the necessary attributes, knowledge or skills or are able to acquire the necessary attributes, knowledge or skills before the commencement of IA or during the early part of IA. c) System Allocation - Based on Students' Choices The system allocation of organisation is done by computer matching based on the students’ choices. The computer matching will be carried out after the selections by interviewing organisations (for both overseas and local IA) have been finalised. The matching will be done based on the students' choices. For each of the choices, in the order of priority, the computer matching programme will check for exact match based on Organisation / Field / Work Nature / Project codes. d) Phase 2 selection for students who are not successful in the System Allocation based on their choices Students who are not successful in the system allocation based on their choices will be given the list of projects that are still available to choose from on a first-come-first-serve basis. 4. The full allocation result will be announced to you through StudentLink in June for IA in Semester I and in January for IA in Semester II. For S2, AY 2012/2013, the full allocation result will be announced on 2 January 2013. The final IA project may be modified or change due to organisation’s needs. 12 Back to Content
H) RULES ON ALLOCATION OF IA ORGANISATIONS/PROJECTS (FOR BIE) 1. The allocation of IA organisation/project is based on selection by interviewing organisation. 2. Your next choice (if available) will be used when your earlier choice is not successful. 3. Students who are not shortlisted/selected by the interviewing organisation will be given the list of projects that are still available to choose from on a first-come-first-serve basis during the Phase 2 selection. 4. The full allocation result will be announced to you through StudentLink in December for IA in Semester II.
