textbooks. All students were given<br />
directions and codes to utilize the online<br />
textbook features. Hopefully, this<br />
will help in completion of reading<br />
assignments and eliminate the weight of<br />
the textbook in the backpack.<br />

In 6 th grade we are starting a unit on<br />
Ancient Egypt and beginning work on the<br />
country project (all students received<br />
their country assignment and should be<br />
researching historical figures and<br />
landmarks). In 7 th grade we are starting<br />
the pre-Revolutionary time period<br />
(Chapter 5). In 8 th grade we are starting<br />
post-Civil War Reconstruction (Chapter<br />
17).<br />
In mid-November we will hold the<br />
Classroom-level Geography Bees to<br />
determine the participants in grades 4-8<br />
for the <strong>School</strong>-level Bee in December.<br />

Mr. Norris' 8th grade<br />
Social Studies class is<br />
presently studying The Civil War and<br />
what life was like during the war for the<br />
everyday civilians in both the North and<br />
the South. Future classes will include the<br />
war effort and the economy, the way to<br />
victory for the North, and the reviewing<br />
of key terms, key facts, and critical<br />
thinking.<br />

In Health, Chapter 3 will<br />
help all students begin to<br />
develop their own comprehensive health<br />
development plans
