BCom Major<br />

Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Business</strong><br />

Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Business</strong> is about learning how to<br />

conduct business in the ‘global village’, which<br />

requires a wide range <strong>of</strong> skills. You have to be<br />

able to conduct business not just in your own<br />

country but in many different countries, each <strong>of</strong><br />

which has its own way <strong>of</strong> doing things.<br />

Th<strong>at</strong> means being able to deal with the culture,<br />

language, law, institutions, companies and<br />

communities <strong>of</strong> different countries and<br />

understanding how the people from other<br />

cultures do business.<br />

Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Business</strong> is also about gaining a<br />

sound found<strong>at</strong>ion in each <strong>of</strong> the basic business<br />

subjects – accounting, economics, finance,<br />

management, and marketing – and then putting<br />

those into the intern<strong>at</strong>ional context. With this<br />

comprehensive training, a gradu<strong>at</strong>e can work in<br />

any arena <strong>of</strong> global business, including positions<br />

in intern<strong>at</strong>ional institutions. Understanding<br />

and being able to work comfortably in th<strong>at</strong><br />

environment is the mark <strong>of</strong> the leader <strong>of</strong> the<br />

future.<br />

you to work in any area <strong>of</strong> business for any<br />
