Brunei Darussalam makes a comeback to ABU ROBOCON

Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will represent
Brunei at the ABU ROBOCON 2010 Cairo.
The team consists of 1 student majoring in
physics, Lim Ren Foo and 2 majoring in
computer science, Mohd Hilme bin Mohd
Yahya and Haji Isyrah Fahmi bin Hj Osman.
The supervisor is Mr Ong Wee Hong, a
computer science lecturer who has
experience in robotics and has taken part
in the past national contest and ABU
ROBOCON as a supervisor of Brunei
team.
This is the first time for us to participate in
the ABU ROBOCON.
Passion and interest for robots are the keys
that motivate the team to join ABU
ROBOCON. By taking part in this
competition, we will be able to meet, learn and gain experiences from teams from other
countries/regions. It will also give us a great opportunity to measure ourselves against them.

The ABU Robot Contest Thailand
Championship 2010 was held at the
IMPACT Muang Thong Thani in suburban
Bangkok on 12 and 13 June 2010.
16 top teams from technical college
division and university division, total of 32
teams took part in the contest. Originally,
as many as 205 teams participated in the
preliminary contests held in January, April
(twice) and June.
This year’s winner was LUK JAO MAE
KHLONG PRAPA from Dhurakit Pundit
University, the defending champion. As
Robocon is so popular and it is participated
by so many teams, get to the top is such a
hard thing to do. It is the first time for the
same university to win 2 years in a row at
the domestic contest in Thailand.

Catch ‘Robocon Hong Kong Contest 2010’ on Live Webcast
The Robocon Hong Kong Contest 2010 for ABU ROBOCON 2010 Cairo will be held at Discovery
Park Shopping Centre on Sunday, 26 June 2010 with 10 teams from 6 universities participating.
Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) will webcast the whole contest live from 14:30-17:30 (Hong Kong
time) on http://www.etvonline.tv/etv/front/robocon2010/robocon2010_home.html
RTHK will broadcast a 1.5 hr programme featuring highlight of the event from 14:45 (Hong Kong time)
on TVB J2 on Sunday, 11 July 2010.
