Information for guest auditors (“Gasthörer”)
The Berlin University of the Arts offers the possibility to sign up for certain lectures as guest auditors. You have to sign up
within the first 4 weeks of the semester. The current course offer (course catalogue) can be found online on www.udkberlin.de.
In general all courses may be attended, provided the lecturer agrees.
However, there are a number of restrictions:
- Guest auditors are not entitled to individual tuition (instrumental, vocal or scenic lessons) or studio classes and workshops
in the College of Fine Arts.
- Attending courses of the first 4 semesters of the architecture programme is not possible either. Guest auditors who want to
participate in design projects during the advanced study period of architecture have to have passed their intermediate
examination or completed a Bachelor in Architecture at a scientific college / academy.
Examinations
Guest auditors may not take any examinations.
If you want to become a guest auditor at the University of the Arts Berlin, please submit your application at the registrar’s
office (IPA – addresses listed down below) during the first 4 weeks of the semester.
For the winter semester 2012/2013: 15 th
of October to 12 th
of November 2012
How it’s done:
1. To start with, you need the application form “Antrag auf Zulassung als Gasthörer/in”. This form is available
at the Student Advisory Service and the registrar’s office (IPA). You can also download the application form.
(Important: Please print the entire document – 3 pages). You have to fill in the selected courses.
2. The lecturer of the according course needs to agree for you to be a guest auditor – you need their signature on
the application form and you have to get this signature yourself (before or after courses or during the lecturer’s
consultation hours). You’ll find relevant information in the online course catalogue.
http://www.vdl.udk-berlin.de/
3. The fee for guest auditors is 15 € per hour for one semester. After the lecturer has agreed you need to transfer
the amount to the account of the Technical University Berlin:
Technische Universität Berlin
Konto-Nr.: 884 101 5046
BLZ 100 900 00 – Berliner Volksbank
Subject: "UdK Berlin, 20/11152“
The fee can also be paid in cash, at:
the deposit slip.

When you are admitted as a guest auditor, you will receive a note that entitles you to attend the listed course(s).
