“There are great opportunities out there,
“It’s a matter of finding the right program for the right individual.”
Throughout the course of his career in the financial
sector, Andrew has capitalized on the opportunity to
gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry
as a whole. Since 1984 he has held positions in
varying aspects of the business, building an intimate
knowledge of the loan process as he worked in
transaction development, investment banking, asset
securitization and professional training. While a
wealth of opportunities have become available to
Andrew throughout the course of his career, he has
consistently found himself drawn to the opportunity to
cultivate long-term relationships with consumers and
real estate professionals.
“While I enjoy a transactional approach,” notes
Andrew, “my strength is in understanding how
individual agents manage their businesses, then
assisting them in identifying opportunities and
solutions to increase efficacy and maximize results.”
Although many real estate professionals and
consumers have a cursory understanding of reverse
mortgages, Andrew reveals that industry changes
have made the programs more viable than ever for an
increasing clientele. “Inevitably, I’m hearing people
say that they should have done this years ago,” he
states. “Homeowners are discovering that, through
reverse mortgages, they can alleviate the stresses
associated with making their mortgage payments,
and can even save their homes from foreclosure.”
He adds that consumers aged 62 and older can use
the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) to
purchase properties. “There are great opportunities
out there,” Andrew reveals. “It’s a matter of finding
the right program for the right individual.”
As a reverse mortgage specialist, Andrew thrives
on the ability to educate others on their options.
Highly communicative and thorough, he ensures that
consumers’ questions and concerns are answered
before they make life-changing decisions. He also
enjoys the ability to share his knowledge with his
industry peers; Andrew has been certified by the
Financial Planning Association Board of Standards
to educate financial planners and advisors on
specialized products including the Saver Program,
first introduced by MetLife in 2010. The Saver
Program is of particular interest to financial planners
ExEcutivEAgEnt ExEcutivEAgEnt Magazine
because its initial costs are significantly lower than
the existing Standard Program. “This is something
that can be planned in advance, rather than simply
used as a tool to counter unexpected financial
glitches,” explains Andrew.
His consultative approach and ability to connect
with clients on a personal level have earned Andrew
the trust and confidence of consumers and colleagues
alike. Much of his business now stems from referral
clientele, who appreciate the knowledge and patience
that he offers throughout the process. Backed by
MetLife Bank’s exceptional support and products,
he has the opportunity to provide services to clients
around the country. And Andrew continues to build
his presence in Los Angeles and Orange County
through community outreach that extends beyond his
professional endeavors. An avid rower, he recently
joined the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, where
he’ll have the opportunity to assist in regional rescue
missions. He is also an active member of the Long
Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “Contributing to
the improvement of my community is an activity that
is very near and dear to my heart,” he reveals.
Reverse mortgages have evolved significantly over
the course of six decades; today’s products are
designed to meet the needs of a growing consumer
base, assisting them in building sound financial
futures.
