Praxair’s I-SOSM service can be more
cost effective than many alternative
options. In addition to quick installation,
it provides a range of benefits that other
solutions can lack.
The use of oxygen instead of air eliminates
nitrogen from the aeration system.
This virtually eliminates VOC stripping
from the water, and minimizes foaming,
which can foul equipment, impede mixing
and further reduce oxygen transfer.
In addition, the I-SO TM system provides
excellent solids suspension, and decreased
odor emissions. By reducing total gas
throughput, the oxygen-based system
reduces emissions volume, which can
help meet air emissions regulations.
The floating I-SO TM system has been
installed in tanks and lagoons at a range
of depths. An erosion reduction plate
system attaches to the bottom of the draft
tube, and is used for installation in shallow,
earthen-lined lagoons. The unit’s two

major subassemblies are bolted together
on site, and the complete assembly is
lifted into the tank or lagoon, where it
floats. No support structures are needed.
With excellent oxygen transfer and
utilization, as well as reduced emissions,
the Praxair In-Situ Oxygenation (I-SO TM )
system is being widely used for industrial
wastewater aeration. Over 100 Praxair
I-SO TM systems have been installed
worldwide by Praxair Services, Inc., a
subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., North America’s
largest industrial gas manufacturer.

Single, Floating I-SOTM System
The Praxair I-SOSM service combines the
technology of Praxair’s floating In-Situ
Oxygenation (I-SOTM ) system and the
TMVU-100 Portable Vaporizer.
Praxair’s I-SO TM system uses an innovative
mechanical mixer to deliver 99.5%
pure oxygen, instead of air, to boost dissolved
oxygen availability in water and
wastewater treatment systems.
Portable Oxygen Vaporizer
This unit, in conjunction with the Praxair
I-SOTM system, is delivered and set-up by
Praxair’s service technicians. The liquid
oxygen tank and vaporizer is a fully automated
unit and is equipped with a low
temperature shut-off valve to ensure that
your piping system is not exposed to
cryogenic temperatures. The unit can be
manned, if necessary. (Vaporizer shown
in photo above).
