“Moving On!”<br />

May 20 th w<strong>as</strong> a big day in <strong>the</strong> lives of some<br />

“little people” here at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Agnes</strong> <strong>School</strong>.<br />

This day marked <strong>the</strong> end of preschool and<br />

<strong>the</strong> beginning of new experiences for many.<br />

Parents, grandparents and special people filled<br />

<strong>the</strong> seats of <strong>the</strong> gym to watch <strong>the</strong> preschoolers<br />

perform many of <strong>the</strong> things <strong>the</strong>y had learned<br />

throughout <strong>the</strong> school year. The program w<strong>as</strong><br />

accented with <strong>the</strong> “Days of <strong>the</strong> Week” song, a<br />

song about Noah’s Ark and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peace</strong>Builder’s<br />

Pledge. The pledge is said by <strong>the</strong> whole<br />

student body toge<strong>the</strong>r every school day during<br />

Morning Prayer. The program w<strong>as</strong> completed<br />

with Sr. Joan giving <strong>the</strong> preschool students<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir “Moving On” certificates.<br />

Oh, <strong>the</strong> Places You Will Go!<br />

The <strong>the</strong>me of this year’s Learning Fair w<strong>as</strong><br />

Reading. A stage presentation of “The<br />

Bookworm” w<strong>as</strong> presented by <strong>the</strong> third<br />

graders and <strong>the</strong>ir teachers. The students<br />

and <strong>the</strong>ir families were invited to tour <strong>the</strong><br />

school to partake in <strong>the</strong> many cl<strong>as</strong>sroom<br />

activities. A special thank you to <strong>the</strong><br />

Reading Committee, whose initiation of <strong>the</strong><br />

“Family Projects” enlivened <strong>the</strong> halls with<br />

posters, t-shirts and dioram<strong>as</strong> depicting a<br />

favorite family book.<br />

Elegant Event<br />

The <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Agnes</strong> Kindergarten cl<strong>as</strong>ses came<br />

dressed in <strong>the</strong>ir finest and used <strong>the</strong>ir best<br />

manners for <strong>the</strong> fourth Annual Elegant Event.<br />

Young gentlemen escorted young ladies to have<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir pictures taken and <strong>the</strong>n returned to <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

respective cl<strong>as</strong>srooms for an elegant sit-down<br />

lunch complete with dessert followed by dancing<br />

a waltz. The children practiced <strong>the</strong>ir manners<br />

and money counting skills <strong>as</strong> <strong>the</strong>y ordered <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

dining fare from parent waiters and waitresses.<br />

The students discovered that it can be fun to get<br />

dressed up and use <strong>the</strong>ir manners.
