DESTINATION
Where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona
meet is a region known as the Four Corners. Boasting one of
the most dramatic landscapes in the USA with deep canyons
and towering plateaus, the area has been home for centuries
to the native Navajo and Hopi tribes, yet is sparsely populated
and presents the raw nature for which the American Southwest
has become famous. It is here that Amangiri finds its home,
tucked into a protected valley with sweeping views over
colorful, stratified rock towards the Grand Staircase-Escalante
National Monument.
Described as “an extraordinary otherworld”, “the ideal Bond
villain’s lair” and “paradise in wild solitude” in the various
accolades it has been awarded since opening in 2009, Amangiri
is located in Southern Utah, close to the border with Arizona.
Situated on an 810-acre property, the resort has been designed

Amangiri’s completed Aman Villa lies
adjacent to the resort, yet enjoys consummate
privacy surrounded by the dramatic scenery
of Utah’s canyon country.

AMAN VILLAS
he Four Corners region has a geographic
diversity that is unrivaled, resulting in
scenery as captivating as it is majestic. It
is this scenery which has inspired the
design of Amangiri and also of Amangiri’s
Aman Villa.
At present Amangiri offers one completed villa for rent
or purchase, with three Aman-style villas for pre-sale in
the pipeline. The existing villa is set on 62,430 square feet,
just 1,300 feet from the main resort, and enjoys every service
and amenity of Amangiri in the space and privacy of a
private home.
The villa features four en suite bedrooms – three king-size
and one twin – all with private terraces and spectacular
views. It also offers a dining room; a living room with woodburning
fireplace; an audio visual entertainment room; a
professional-grade kitchen; an intimate courtyard; and a
stone terrace with outdoor dining area, outdoor shower and
sun loungers overlooking the 50-foot infinity pool.
Minimalistic in design to fit with the simple, clean beauty of
the desert landscape, the villa blends into its surrounds
when viewed from outside and invites the desert in with
its open-plan layout. The interior design features pale
woods, earth tone fabrics and the highest quality fittings,
fixtures, furniture and appliances, as well as original works
of art. The villa’s pool is heated by a solar-heating system
and the air/heat exchange within the villa is provided by
an advanced eco-friendly geothermal system. Villa residents
enjoy services that cover staffing, cleaning, maintenance and
security, as well as access to all the resort’s facilities.

AMANGIRI
At the center of Amangiri is the Pavilion, with dramatic
views of rock formations and the swimming pool to one side
and panoramic views of the surrounding plateaus to the
other. Within the Pavilion are the Living Room, Gallery,
Library, Dining Room, Private Dining Room and Cellar.
The Living Room is located in two spacious alcoves which
enjoy wood-burning fireplaces and sweeping views. The
Gallery showcases the region’s best art, jewelry and handicrafts
including works from the Navajo community. Situated
on an elevated plinth in the center of the Pavilion is the
Library – a series of extended sofas punctuated by ledges
filled with books and magazines.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Dining Room
features floor-to-ceiling glass doors which open onto the
outdoor dining terrace overlooking the swimming pool.
The focal point of the Dining Room is the open-plan
kitchen with its wood-fired oven imparting a unique
flavour and rustic authenticity to Amangiri’s cuisine. The
Private Dining Room with its 10-seat wooden table and
fireplace is located opposite the kitchen, adjacent to the
Wine Cellar. This walk-in facility features floor-to-ceiling
walnut cabinets housing a unique selection of wines, a
built-in wine dispenser and a cigar humidor.
Designed to wrap around a prominent rock outcrop, the
swimming pool is set within a sunken courtyard overlooked
by the Pavilion. A number of king-sized daybeds
appear to float on the water on one side. Located beyond
the Pavilion, the Desert Lounge is an open-air living room
– a special place to enjoy the beauty of the sunset or the
stars at night.
Two wings lead from the Pavilion into the desert, accommodating
34 suites in total and the Aman Spa.

AMAN SPA
The Aman Spa at Amangiri is a destination unto itself, providing
a serene setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Leading off the
spa’s reception area are five candlelit treatment rooms, two outdoor
treatment terraces and a series of pavilions. These include
the water pavilion and the floatation pavilion. The water pavilion
features an open-air, stone-lined step-pool with magnificent
desert views. Refreshingly cool in summer, the pool is heated
in winter. Guests can also make use of the water pavilion’s steam
room, dry sauna and cold plunge pool. The floatation pavilion
is where guests can enjoy the benefits of floatation therapy – a
sensory treatment allowing one to attain the depths of relaxation
usually only reached through meditation. Connected to the
floatation pavilion is an open-air relaxation terrace. Other spa
facilities include the fitness center; the yoga pavilion and the
salon which offers beauty treatments.

AMANGIRI’S SURROUNDS
The pristine desert landscape around Amangiri offers a
host of outdoor activities. A number of on-property hiking
trails start from the resort, leading guests to picturesque
viewpoints and other sites of interest. All trails are graded
for intensity and some include exciting via ferrata climbing
routes. Guests can also explore on bike or horseback,
reaching remote corners of the property. Water-based
activities include fly-fishing on the nearby Colorado River
and boating on Lake Powell, where the multitude of sandy
beaches are ideal for picnics or days spent lounging in the
sun. Day trips further afield can be arranged to take in the
outstanding National Parks and extraordinary geographical
formations for which the Four Corners region is famed.
It is also possible to experience it all from the air – whether
by hot air balloon, helicopter or fixed-wing flight.
